Chris Brien
Christian John Brien is a drummer, percussionist and drum clinician. From 1992 he was a member of the Australian rock, funk and disco band Swoop and appears on all three of their studio albums, ''Thriller'' (October 1993), ''Woxo Principle'' (November 1995), and ''Be What You Is'' (January 1999). Swoop's most popular single, "Apple Eyes", was released in 1995, which reached No. 9 on the ARIA Singles Chart. At the ARIA Music Awards of 1994, Swoop were nominated for 'Best New Talent' for ''Thriller'', while at the 1996 awards they were nominated for 'Song of the Year' and 'Best Video' for "Apple Eyes", and for 'Best Pop Release' for ''Woxo Principle''. Late in 1999 Swoop disbanded, and Brien became a session musician and drum clinician and released solo material. Douglas Robert Zachariah Brien (born November 24, 1970) is a former American football placekicker and American businessman. He played twelve seasons in the National Football League (NFL) for seven teams: San Francisco, New Orleans, Indianapolis, Tampa Bay, Minnesota, New York Jets, and Chicago. Brien was picked in the third round of the 1994 NFL Draft (85th overall) by San Francisco out of the University of California, Berkeley. After retiring from the NFL, Brien co-founded the real estate investment firms Waypoint Homes and Mynd. Brien McMahon, born James O'Brien McMahon (October 6, 1903July 28, 1952) was an American lawyer and politician who served in the United States Senate (as a Democrat from Connecticut) from 1945 to 1952. McMahon was a major figure in the establishment of the Atomic Energy Commission, through his authorship of the Atomic Energy Act of 1946 (the McMahon Act). McMahon served as chairman of the Senate Special Committee on Atomic Energy, and the first chairman of the Joint Committee on Atomic Energy. McMahon was a key figure in the early years of atomic weapons development and an advocate for the civilian (rather than military) control of nuclear development in the USA. Jerry Brien was an Australian rugby league footballer and coach. He played for Western Suburbs, St. George and for the New South Wales Rugby League team. He also coached the Canterbury-Bankstown club and Western Suburbs. Playing career In 1925, Brien was chosen to play for New South Wales although he was only playing for the Western Suburbs reserve grade team, and had played just a handful of first grade games since his debut in 1923. Brien represented NSW again in 1928, and was selected to represent Australia in the second test against England, but an injury suffered playing for Wests stopped him from making his international debut. After six seasons with Western Suburbs, Brien joined St. George for 4 games in 1929. Robert C. Brien (born 26 October 1944 in Sydney) was a tennis player in the 1960s and 1970s. Tennis career In 1963 Brien, with Greg Cotterill, won the Australian Championships Boys Doubles Championship. As a 19-year-old who had been in the United States for four months, Brien reached the final at the Cincinnati Masters, Cincinnati tournament in 1964 before losing to Herb Fitzgibbon. According to an article in the 5 July 1964, edition of ''The Cincinnati Enquirer'', Brien had defeated Neale Fraser, Owen Davidson, Tony Roche and William "Billy" Lenoir, Bill Lenoir. Brien played collegiate tennis at Mississippi State University. He was an All-American in 1966 and 1967. Brien finished his collegiate tennis career with a 67–1 career winning record. Brien McKeiver Taylor (born December 26, 1971) is a former pitcher in minor league baseball. He spent seven seasons in the minor leagues, primarily with the New York Yankees organization. In his career, he had a Win–loss record (pitching), win–loss record of 22–30, a 5.12 earned run average (ERA), and 425 strikeouts. Don Brien
Don Brien (born September 1, 1959 in Halifax, Nova Scotia) is a Canadian sprint canoer, who competed in the mid to late 1980s. He won a bronze medal with partner Colin Shaw in the K-2 1000 m at the 1985 ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships at Mechelen. Brien also competed in two Summer Olympics, earning his best finish of ninth in the K-4 1000 m event at Los Angeles in 1984. Brien began paddling in 1975 at the Banook Canoe Club in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Don's older brother Alvin Brien was also a successful paddler, and served as an early mentor. Alvin and Don were both named to the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow, but did not compete due to the Canadian boycott of those games. In 1982, Alvin died at sea after a sailing accident. Brien A. Cullen (born November 30, 1955) is an American former college football coach. Cullen served as the head coach for the Worcester State Lancers from 1983 to 2019. Career Cullen graduated from Worcester State College with a Bachelor of Arts in 1977, and played club football there. In his final season, he captained the squad. He would return to school and complete a Master of Education in 1985. Cullen was the head coach of Worcester State Club Football team from 1983 to 1984. In his first season, he led the squad to an 8-3 record, and then followed with an undefeated season and a 1984 National Club Championship.
