''Brief Story from the Green Planet'' ( es, Breve historia del planeta verde) is a 2019 internationally co-produced science fiction adventure film directed by Argentine filmmaker Santiago Loza. The film centres on Tania (Romina Escobar), a young transgender woman mourning the recent death of her grandmother, who discovers that her grandmother was taking care of an extraterrestrial alien and embarks on a quest with her longtime friends Daniela (Paula Grinszpan) and Pedro (Luis Sodá) to return the creature to where it was originally found. The film is an international co-production between Argentina, Brazil, Germany and Spain. Santiago Loza
Santiago Loza (born April 15, 1971, in Córdoba, Argentina) is an Argentine film director. He studied at Universidad Nacional Film School, Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales (INCAA)´s Escuela Nacional de Experimentación y Realización Cinematográfica (ENERC), and Escuela Municipal de Artes Dramáticas. In 1998, he directed the short film Lara y Los Trenes. In 2003, his first feature film, Extraño, was an Official Selection of the Rotterdam Film Festival, where it won the Tiger Award for best film. In 2008 he directed the films Artico and Rosa Patria. In 2009, his film La Invencion de la Carne was an Official Selection of the Locarno Film Festival. That same year he co-founded the Elefante Theater Club, and continues to write plays and direct films. Teddy Award
The Teddy Award is an international film award for films with LGBT topics, presented by an independent jury as an official award of the Berlin International Film Festival (the Berlinale). In the most part, the jury consists of organisers of gay and lesbian film festivals, who view films screened in all sections of the Berlinale; films do not have to have been part of the festival's official competition stream to be eligible for Teddy awards.
