Brief Season
''Brief Season'' ( it, Una breve stagione, also known as ''As Long as it Lasts'') is a 1969 Italian drama film written and directed by Renato Castellani. Plot Johnny is a young American who lives in Rome, where he exercises the profession of stockbroker. Luisa is a Swedish girl who works as a simultaneous translator at the FAO. They meet on the occasion of a TV show, and fall in love. Johnny, intending to secure a future for himself and Luisa, sells some securities in his care to attempt a stock market speculation based on some confidential information, but things do not go as expected. Renato Castellani
Renato Castellani (4 September 1913 in Varigotti, Liguria – 28 December 1985 in Rome) was an Italian film director and screenwriter. Early life Son of a representative of Kodak, he was born in Varigotti, a hamlet at the time of Final Pia, which became Finale Ligure (Savona) in 1927, where his mother had returned from Argentina to give birth to his son. He spent his childhood in Argentina, in the city of Rosario. After 12 years, he returned to Liguria and resumed his studies in Genoa. He moved to Milan, where he graduated from the Polytechnic University in architecture. In Milan he met Livio Castiglioni and together they aired for GUF (Fascist University Group) ''L'ora radiofonica'' and ''La fontana malata'' by Aldo Palazzeschi, experimenting with new techniques for sound editing on radio. Antonello Trombadori (April 24, 1917, Rome – January 19, 1993, Rome) was an Italian politician, art critic and journalist. Born in Rome into a family of artists (his father Francesco Trombadori was a painter) Trombadori lived a happy life in the Villa Strohl-Fern studio-home of his city, coming into contact with numerous intellectuals of the era. An intimate friend of Renato Guttuso and Corrado Cagli, he collaborated with them in his youth on a series of important magazines, including ''La Ruota'', '' Primato'', ''Città'', ''Corrente'' and ''Cinema''. Between the years of 1937 and 1940 he participated in a secret propaganda effort to convince Italian youth to abandon fascism.
