Bridge Nine Records
Bridge 9 Records is an American hardcore punk record label located outside Boston, Massachusetts. Bridge Nine is owned by Chris Wrenn of Salem, Massachusetts, who began the label in 1995 and produced its first release in 1996. The label is named as a metaphor for what Wrenn wanted to do in creating the label: bridge all parts of the hardcore scene into one label and then put his lucky number (nine) in the title. The label currently has 8 employees and 30 active bands. In 2021, the label announced they were opening a record store. Virgin Music Label & Artist Services is a music distributor of independent artists and record labels, owned by Universal Music Group. The subsidiary focuses on the distribution of new or emerging partners. Started by Virgin Records as Caroline Distribution, a record importer, Virgin has become one of the U.S. music industry's largest third party distribution companies for the independent music sector. In 1993, when EMI acquired Virgin Records, Caroline was separated and became part of EMI Music Distribution. The company is currently part of Virgin Music Group. Defeater (band)
Defeater is an American melodic hardcore band from Massachusetts, formed in 2004 within the Boston hardcore scene. To date they have released five full-length albums, two EPs and three singles. The band lineup consists of Derek Archambault (vocals), Jake Woodruff (guitar), Joe Longobardi (drums) and Mike Poulin (bass). All of the band's works have been released via Bridge 9 Records, aside from the album '' Travels'', which was initially released via Topshelf Records, but was later reissued on Bridge 9 Records. Their studio album, '' Letters Home, ''was released on July 16, 2013 and debuted at number 72 on Billboard Top 200 chart, number 1 on the vinyl chart and number 13 on the Current Alternative Album chart. Cruel Hand
Cruel Hand is an American hardcore punk band from Portland, Maine that formed in 2006. As of 2013, Cruel Hand has released four full-length albums: '' Without a Pulse'' on 6131 Records, '' Prying Eyes'' and '' Lock & Key'' on Bridge 9 Records and ''The Negatives'' on Hopeless Records. The band has also released three EPs on Bridge 9: ''Life in Shambles'', ''Cruel Hand'' and ''Born Into Debt, We All Owe a Death''. Their song "Face to Face" is featured on Triple B Records' 2010 ''America's Hardcore Compilation''. Champion (band)
Champion was an American straight edge hardcore punk band formed by vocalist Jim Hesketh and guitarist Chris Williams in the spring of 1999 in Seattle, Washington. History Jim and Chris formed Champion and after a few months of shows, the band released its first demo on cassette and went on a West Coast tour of the United States. In the early days the band was plagued with constant line-up changes, but in 2000 the majority of the core lineup came together to release the ''Come Out Swinging'' EP on Platinum Recordings (Germany). After playing with American Nightmare Timbomb suggested Chris Wrenn of Bridge Nine Records check out the band. Ceremony (punk Band)
Ceremony is an American punk rock band from Rohnert Park, California. The band's current line-up features Ross Farrar (vocals), Anthony Anzaldo (guitar), Jasmine Watson (bass), Andy Nelson (guitar), and Jake Casarotti (drums). Ryan Mattos (guitar) left before the group's Matador Records signing in 2011, being replaced by Nelson, while Watson joined in 2022 as a replacement for founding bassist Justin Davis. Blue Monday (band)
Blue Monday was a Vancouver-based hardcore punk band founded in 2001. Over its history the band consisted of Dave Mac, Kyle de Ville, Tony Patrick, Chris Pratt, Dave Mitchell, Jason Kehoe, and Adam Mitchell. History Blue Monday was formed by guitarist Kyle de Ville and vocalist Dave Mac in the spring of 2001. After securing drummer Chris Pratt and bassist Tony Patrick, the band wrote an eight-song demo which came out in early 2002. After a few short tours down the west coast, Blue Monday entered the studio again in mid-2002 and recorded the 7" EP ''War Wounds'' which came out in early 2003 on For the Core Records. Strike Anywhere
Strike Anywhere is an American punk rock band from Richmond, Virginia. Formed in 1999 after the demise of frontman Thomas Barnett's previous band, Inquisition, they took their name from the Inquisition song "Strike Anywhere". Their music is characterized by fast tempos, catchy melodies, and emotionally charged vocals delivered via shouting and singing. Lemuria (American Band)
Lemuria was an American rock band formed in 2004 and originally based in Buffalo, New York. After a series of singles and EPs, Lemuria released albums between 2007 and 2017, and toured both the U.S. and internationally. The band's most recent effort, "Recreational Hate", was recorded by four-time Grammy award-winning producer/engineer Chris Shaw and released on the band's own record label, Turbo Worldwide, licensed through Asian Man Records in the U.S. and Big Scary Monsters in the U.K. The album was announced December 11, 2017, and was simultaneously received by many of the band's fans as a result of a "secret LP" placed for sale on their website months prior. H2O (American Band)
H2O is an American hardcore punk band formed in New York City in 1994. History Formation and the Epitaph years (1994–2000) While touring as a roadie for Sick of It All, Toby Morse would sometimes sing with the band during encores. In late 1994 Morse decided to start his own band and formed H2O in the Lower East Side of Manhattan with Rusty Pistachio and Eric Rice. The band included his brother, Todd Morse, and Todd Friend, both formerly members of Outcrowd, who had released the albums ''New Music Solution'' (1988), ''Weathered'' (1992) and ''Healer'' (1994). Gallows are an English hardcore punk band from Watford, Hertfordshire. The band was formed in 2005 after Laurent Barnard's previous band disbanded. Gallows' debut album, '' Orchestra of Wolves'', was distributed in the United States by Epitaph Records, and they were subsequently signed to Warner Bros. Records for a £1 million album contract and recorded ''Grey Britain''. Expire was an American hardcore punk band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, United States, active from 2009 to 2017. They were signed to Bridge 9 Records. History Expire was formed in 2009. They released three full-length albums, three EPs and one split. They released their first full length, titled ''Pendulum Swings'' in 2012.
