''Bridge'' () (also known as ''The Bridge'') is a 1949 Chinese war film made shortly after the Chinese Communist Revolution; as such, it is considered the first feature film completed after the founding of the People's Republic of China. Chen Qiang (actor)
Chen Qiang (; 1918 – 26 June 2012) was a Chinese film and stage actor and comedian best known for his performances as villains/antagonists in '' The Red Detachment of Women'', ''The White Haired Girl'' and ''Devils on the Doorstep''. Chen began his career as an actor in 1947 and has played more than 40 different characters since then. His second son, Chen Peisi, is also a well-known actor and comedian. Biography Chen was born Chen Qingsan () to a poor family in Xujiahe Township of Ningjin County, in Hebei province. When he was a child, he relocated to Taiyuan, Shanxi with his parents. In 1936, he attended Taiyuan Youth Theatre and Xinsheng Theatre; both were progressive groups organized by the Communist Party of China. In 1938, he went to Yan'an to study acting at Lu Xun Academy of Arts. After graduating in 1939 he joined the Song and Dance Troupe of Shanxi-Chahaer-Hebei Border Region. Northeast Film Studio
Northeast Film Studio () was one of the first formally established movie production company in the northeast part of China. Early history After the War of Resistance against Japan the studio was established in the Dongbei territory of China. On October 1, 1946 the studio was relocated to Xingshan in the Nenjiang province (), known today as Hegang in the Heilongjiang province. At the time it is the first known studio established by a communist party. Separation From here the film talents and animation talents would separate. The surrendering of Japan in World War II caused the Manchukuo Film Association to split. The parts that were sanctioned by the Chinese government would integrate with the Yan'an Film Studio () and the Northeast Film Studio. The People's Liberation Army (PLA) is the principal military force of the People's Republic of China and the armed wing of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
