Brian Walsh (footballer Born 1951)
Brian T. Walsh (born 24 April 1951) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for Carlton Football Club, Carlton and Essendon Football Club, Essendon in the Victorian Football League (1897–1989), Victorian Football League (VFL) during the 1970s. From Sandhurst Football Club, Sandhurst, Walsh had his best year in 1973 when he won Carlton's Best Clubman Award and topped their goalkicking with 60 goals, including a bag of eight against Sydney Swans, South Melbourne at Lake Oval. He was a rover in the 1973 VFL Grand Final, 1973 Grand Final but finished on the losing team. In 1975 he joined Essendon and kicked exactly 100 goals for the club over four seasons. He finished his career at Werribee Football Club, Werribee and was their captain-coach in 1981, winning Werribee's 'Best and fairest'. The Sandhurst Football Netball Club, nicknamed the ''Dragons'', is an Australian rules football and netball club based in Bendigo, Victoria (Australia), Victoria. Sandhurst is the former name of that city. The club teams currently compete in the Bendigo Football League, Bendigo Football Netball League. The football team is the second most-winning team of the BFL, with 27 premierships. History Sandhurst, who were then known as the Maroons, were one of the league's foundation clubs in 1880. They had been formed in June 1861, by Melbourne Football Club rulemaker J. B. Thompson. Ovens & Murray Football League
The Ovens and Murray Football Netball League (O&MFNL) is an Australian rules football and netball competition containing ten clubs based in north-eastern Victoria, the southern Riverina region of New South Wales and the Ovens and Murray area. The name comes from the Ovens River, the river in the part of north-eastern Victoria covered by the league, and the Murray River, which separates Victoria and New South Wales. The league features three grades in the Australian rules football competition, with these being First-Grade, Reserve-Grade and Under 18s. In the netball competition, there are four grades, with these being A-Grade, B-Grade, C-Grade and Under 16s. Currently a home and away season consisting of eighteen rounds is played. The Werribee Football Club, nicknamed the Tigers, is an Australian rules football club, based in Werribee. The club was formed in 1964 and currently plays in the Victorian Football League (VFL). The 1973 VFL Grand Final was an Australian rules football game contested between and at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on 29 September 1973.
