Brian Tufano
Brian Tufano (1939 – 14 January 2023) was an English cinematographer, best known for his work on the films of Danny Boyle and Menhaj Huda. Tufano was admitted to the British Society of Cinematographers and won the 2001 BAFTA Award for Outstanding Contribution to Film and Television. His most well-known works include ''Trainspotting'', ''A Life Less Ordinary'' and ''Billy Elliot''. Career Tufano began his career at the BBC as a projectionist, working his way up to become a cameraman with the BBC film department in 1963. During his time at the BBC, Tufano worked with directors including Stephen Frears and Alan Parker. In 1992 he was assigned to the series '' Mr. Wroe's Virgins'' and worked with director Danny Boyle. British Society Of Cinematographers
The British Society of Cinematographers (abbreviated B.S.C. or BSC) was formed in 1949 by Bert Easey (23 August 1901 – 28 February 1973), the then head of the Denham and Pinewood studio camera departments, to represent British cinematographers in the British film industry. ''Alien Love Triangle'' is a 2008 comedy-science fiction short film directed by Danny Boyle. It was filmed in 1999. The film was originally intended to be one of a trilogy of 30-minute short films shown together. However, the two other films, ''Mimic'' and ''Impostor'', were turned into full-length features, and the project was cancelled. The film had its world premiere as part of the closing ceremony of the smallest theatre in the UK, La Charrette, on 23 February 2008, an event organised by Mark Kermode of ''The Culture Show''. Middlemarch (TV Serial)
Middlemarch is a 1994 television adaptation of the 1871 novel of the same name by George Eliot. Produced by the BBC on BBC2 in six episodes (seven episodes in the worldwide TV series), it is the second such adaptation for television of the novel. It was directed by Anthony Page from a screenplay by Andrew Davies, and starred Juliet Aubrey, Rufus Sewell, Douglas Hodge and Patrick Malahide. Plot Dorothea Brooke (Juliet Aubrey) attempts to satisfy her underdeveloped intellect through marriage to the Reverend Edward Casaubon (Patrick Malahide), a man twice her age. The marriage proves unsatisfying and ends with Casaubon's unexpected death. Dorothea eventually meets Will Ladislaw (Rufus Sewell), an event which leads to further complications. John Alcott
John Alcott, BSC (27 November 1930 – 28 July 1986) was an English cinematographer known for his four collaborations with director Stanley Kubrick: '' 2001: A Space Odyssey'' (1968), for which he took over as lighting cameraman from Geoffrey Unsworth in mid-shoot, '' A Clockwork Orange'' (1971), '' Barry Lyndon'' (1975), the film for which he won his Oscar, and '' The Shining'' (1980). Alcott died from a heart attack in Cannes, France, in July 1986; he was 55. He received a tribute at the end of his last film '' No Way Out'' starring Kevin Costner. ''Late Night Shopping'' is a 2001 comedy film funded by FilmFour Productions, centering on a group of friends who all work the graveyard shifts. Beaconsfield ( ) is a market town and civil parish within the unitary authority of Buckinghamshire, England, west-northwest of central London and south-southeast of Aylesbury. The National Film and Television School (NFTS) is a film, television and games school established in 1971 and based at Beaconsfield Studios in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, England. It is featured in the 2021 ranking by ''The Hollywood Reporter'' of the top 15 International film schools. Its community of students makes around a hundred and fifty films a year on courses that are over 90% practical and unlike courses offered at other UK film schools.
