Brian Joseph Regan () (born June 2, 1958) is an American stand-up comedian who uses observational, sarcastic, and self-deprecating humor. He is known for incorporating body language and facial expressions into his act. His performances are often described as clean as he refrains from profanity as well as taboo subject matter. Regan's material typically covers everyday events, such as shipping a package with UPS, mortgages, and visits to the optometrist. While he does not define himself as youth-oriented, Regan makes frequent references to childhood, including little league baseball, grade school spelling bees, and science projects. Brian James Regan (born 2 October 1957 in Prescot, LancashireHayward 1996, p. 210) is an English actor known for playing Terry Sullivan, one of the lead roles in the Channel 4 soap ''Brookside,'' during the 1980s and 1990s. He has also had small parts in other television series. In 1988, he won the Christmas special of '' Wheel of Fortune'' (series 1, episode 11). On 12 April 2011, Regan was charged with the murder of a doorman in Liverpool and remanded in custody to await trial. He was cleared of the murder early the following year but was still imprisoned for nearly five years on a lesser charge. Early life and career Regan attended Yew Tree Comprehensive School in Dovecot. He trained as an actor at the Liverpool Playhouse and, in addition to his role in Brookside, has also appeared on television in ''The Bill'', ''Paparazzo'' and ''Murphy's Mob''. Biography He was born October 23, 1962, in New York City, New York. His childhood has been characterised as a difficult one; due to having dyslexia and having an "odd" personality, he was frequently bullied and ridiculed by classmates and children in his neighbourhood.
