Brian McFadden (singer)
Brian Nicholas McFadden (born 12 April 1980) is an Irish pop singer and television presenter who rose to fame in 1998 as a member of the Irish boy band Westlife. Following his departure from the group in 2004, McFadden released his debut solo album, ''Irish Son.'' He has since released four studio albums: '' Set in Stone'', '' Wall of Soundz'', '' The Irish Connection'', and ''Otis''. Early life McFadden was born in Dublin and was raised Catholic. Throughout his younger years, he always had an interest in singing, dancing and football. The Eurovision Song Contest 2004 was the 49th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest. It took place in Istanbul, Turkey, following the country's victory at the with the song "Everyway That I Can" by Sertab Erener. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT), the contest was held at the Abdi İpekçi Arena, and, for the first time, consisted of a semi-final on 12 May, and a final on 15 May 2004. The two live shows were presented by Turkish actors Korhan Abay and Meltem Cumbul. It was the first time that Turkey had hosted the contest, 29 years after the country made its debut, and was also the first time since the contest in Birmingham that it was not hosted in the host country's capital city. Christopher Doran (born 22 November 1979) is an Irish singer from Waterford. He was the winner of Ireland's '' You're a Star'' 2003-2004 talent search competition to find Ireland's Eurovision Song Contest entry. The competition held auditions throughout Ireland, and the winners went through to the final stages, with one act eventually decided on. The show was aired on RTÉ. He went on to represent Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2004 with "If My World Stopped Turning". Before Eurovision You're a Star RTÉ used the '' You're a Star'' talent contest to select the Irish entry for the Eurovision. The competition started on 16 November 2003.
