Brian Karger
Brian Karger (born 9 February 1967, in Horsens, Denmark) is a former international motorcycle speedway rider. He was a member of the Denmark speedway team when they won the 1991 and 1995 World Team Cup Finals. He also qualified for the 1992 World Final in Wrocław, Poland where he finished 16th (last) with 4pts scored, including a win in his final race. He rode in the United Kingdom for the Swindon Robins, Arena Essex Hammers and also for the Belle Vue Aces. He rode in Sweden and won the Swedish Elitserien in 1988 with Bysarna. After retiring he became a notable engine tuner. Horsens () is a city on the east coast of Jutland region of Denmark. It is the seat of the Horsens municipality. Intercontinental Final
The Intercontinental Final was a Motorcycle speedway Final sanctioned by the FIM as the final qualifying round for the Speedway World Championship between 1975 and 2001. After being introduced in 1975, it replaced the European Final as the final qualifying round for Commonwealth, American and Nordic riders in 1976. The Intercontinental Final was not run from 1991-1994 when it was replaced by the World Semi-finals. It returned to the World Championship calendar in 1995, though unlike from 1975-1991 riders would be vying for a place in the following years Speedway Grand Prix World Championship series and not for the current year World Final. Peter Collins (1976), Ole Olsen (1978) and Bruce Penhall (1981) are the only riders who won the Intercontinental Final to go on and win the World Championship in the same year. John Jørgensen (born 18 July 1962 in Middelfart, Denmark) is a former international motorcycle speedway rider from Denmark. He is not to be confused with Johnny Jørgensen, the 1989 Danish Junior speedway champion. Career Jørgensen won the World Team Cup in 1986 and 1988. He also qualified for the World Final on two occasions and rode in the 1999 and 2000 Speedway Grand Prix. Jørgensen rode in several countries and for various teams but was best known for his successful spell with the Coventry Bees. Gert Handberg (born 30 May 1969 in Brædstrup, Denmark) is a former international motorcycle speedway rider form Denmark. Career Gert joined Cradley Heathens in 1988 on a recommendation, after winning the Danish Junior Championship during the 1986 Danish speedway season. He rode for the club for six consecutive seasons. In 1992, he became the champion of Denmark. He was a member of the Denmark speedway team when they won the 1991 World Team Cup. He also won the World Under-21 Championship in 1989 and finished 3rd in the 1992 senior world final. Erik Gundersen
Erik Gundersen (born 8 October 1959 in Esbjerg, Denmark) is a former motorcycle speedway rider in the late 1970s and 1980s. Gundersen is one of the most successful speedway riders of all time. He was the Speedway World Champion on three occasions, a two time Long Track World Champion, a five time World Pairs Champion, and a seven time World Team Cup winner with Denmark. Gundersen won the World Pairs Championship a record five years in succession from 1985 to 1989, and won the World Team Cup a record six years in succession from 1983 to 1988. His 17 World Championship wins sees him sit second for the most World Championships won. Fellow Dane and Gundersen's long time Danish teammate Hans Nielsen holds the record with 22 World titles, though unlike Gundersen, Nielsen never won the Long Track World Championship. Hans Nielsen (speedway Rider)
Hans Hollen Nielsen (born 26 December 1959) is a Danish former professional motorcycle speedway rider. He competed in the Speedway World Championships from 1977 to 1999. Nielsen is notable for winning four Speedway World Championship titles. During his career, he won a total of 22 World Championships, making him arguably the most successful speedway rider of all time. In 2012, Nielsen was named an FIM Legend for his motorcycling achievements. He later managed the Danish national team. Career Nielsen was born in Arentsminde near Brovst, Denmark. He was one of, if not the most successful riders the sport has ever seen. Odsal Stadium
Odsal Stadium in Bradford, West Yorkshire, England, is the home of Bradford Bulls Rugby League team.
