Brian "Penny" Collins is an American college basketball coach, and current head coach of the Tennessee State Tigers basketball team. Playing career A Nashville native, Collins was a four-year starter at hometown Belmont under Rick Byrd, and was the captain of the Bruins first-ever NCAA Tournament appearance at the Division I level in 2006. He scored 1,199 points in his career, and left the school as the all-time leader in assists and steals at the Division I level. After graduation, Collins played professional basketball between 2006 and 2007 with the Bakersfield Jam of the NBDL and Kouvot in Finland. Brian George Collins (born 11 August 1941) is a former English cricketer. Collins was a right-handed batsman who bowled right-arm fast-medium, with bowling being his main playing role. He was born at Enfield, Middlesex. Collins made his debut for Hertfordshire in the 1966 Minor Counties Championship against Bedfordshire. He played Minor counties cricket for Hertfordshire from 1966 to 1987, making 102 Minor Counties Championship and three MCCA Knockout Trophy appearances. His List A debut came when Hertfordshire played Devon in the 1969 Gillette Cup. He made nine further List A appearances for the county, the last of which came against Surrey in the 1987 NatWest Trophy. Previously, he served as Chairman and Chief Creative Officer of the brand and innovation division of Ogilvy & Mather for ten years. Early life and education Collins grew up in Lexington, Massachusetts, and graduated with a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art and Design in 1982. Brian Collins (born 13 May 1948 in Edinburgh, Scotland) is a former motorcycle speedway rider. Career Collins spent the first four years of his British speedway career with Edinburgh Monarchs from 1966 to 1969, although they were known as Coatbridge from 1968 to 1969. In 1968, he top scored for Scotland against England in a test match. In 1970 and 1971, he rode for Wembley after the London team bought the Coatbridge licence before moving on to Poole Pirates for two years. He joined the Coatbridge/Glasgow Tigers in 1974 and won the Scottish Open Champion in 1975. Also in 1975, Collins finished runner up in the 1975 The National League Riders Championship at Wimbledon. "Boom goes the dynamite!" is a catchphrase coined by Ball State University student Brian Collins, popularized after a video of him delivering an ill-fated sports broadcast that included the phrase was shared on YouTube in 2005.
