Brian Carlton
Brian Carlton (born 27 December 1962) is an Australian radio announcer, producer and journalist. He is known professionally on Triple M Hobart, as The Spoonman. Biography Carlton was born in Australia, into a Catholic household. He grew up in Beacon Hill on Sydney's Northern Beaches, finishing high school in 1980. Working several jobs, including a bank manager, he entered the world of radio at age 21. After six years, Carlton was chosen to head up a major metropolitan radio station, becoming the youngest ever talk back host. Carlton has worked on a number of Sydney radio stations, including 2UE and 2GB, In the on air presenting and producing roles. Triple M Hobart (call sign: 7XXX) is part of the Southern Cross Austereo network of Triple M Network radio stations, Based in Hobart, Tasmania, Australia. History Triple M Hobart, formerly ''Heart 107.3'' and before that, ''Magic 107'', began as 7HT on 19 April 1937. The station had obtained an FM conversion licence. Subsequently, a consortium led by Andrew Reimer and local Hobart businessman John Bender who obtained financial support, arranged to lease the FM licence. The station's first local breakfast host was Brett Marley, who had been the former drive host on 7HO FM. Jason Morrison is a conservative Australian talk radio presenter and newspaper columnist. History Morrison was born in 1971 and raised in Hornsby, a suburb of Sydney's North. He went to St. Leo's College at Wahroonga and is Catholic. He trained at 2GB in a journalism cadetship programme in 1990 and later qualified at the Australian Film Television and Radio School. ''The Grill Team'' was an Australian breakfast radio show that broadcasts weekday mornings from 6 am to 9 am AEST on Triple M Sydney. It commenced broadcasting on 17 August 2009. ''The Spoonman'' was an Australian late night talk back show hosted by radio personality Brian Carlton. Carlton is known professionally as "Spoonman". The show ran from 1998 to 2008, and was rebooted in 2019. The Show The original version of the show was broadcast from the Austereo studios, Sydney and networked to Triple M stations across Australia.
