Brian Battese
Brian Battese (born 25 March 1961) is an Australians, Australian former professional rugby league footballer who played as a Rugby league positions#Second-row forward, second-row forward in the 1980s. He played in the Brisbane Rugby League and New South Wales Rugby League premierships. Playing career A South Lismore junior, Battese played with Wynnum-Manly Seagulls in the Brisbane Rugby League Premiership. He played in Wynnum-Manly's 1982 Grand Final victory over Souths before moving to Sydney club, Western Suburbs Magpies, in 1983. After one season with the club, he moved to Bulldogs Rugby League Football Club, Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs for two seasons under coach Warren Ryan. Wynnum-Manly Seagulls
The Wynnum-Manly Seagulls are an Australian rugby league football club based at Kougari Oval, in Brisbane's bayside suburb of Manly West, Queensland, Manly West, which neighbours the suburb of Wynnum, Queensland, Wynnum. They competed in the Brisbane Rugby League premiership, Brisbane Rugby League from 1951 to 1997. Since 1996 they have competed in the Queensland Cup. Their jersey is red, green and white. The 1985 New South Wales Rugby League premiership was the seventy-eighth season of professional rugby league football in Australia. Thirteen teams competed for the J J Giltinan Shield and Winfield Cup during the season, which culminated in a grand final between the Canterbury-Bankstown and St. George clubs.
