Brett Johnson (Australian Footballer)
Brett Johnson (born 28 October 1981) is a former Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League (AFL) for Hawthorn and Carlton. He also captained Williamstown Football Club in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Raised in Western Australia where he captained the state Under 18 team, he moved to Victoria when he got drafted into the AFL. AFL career A midfielder, Johnson was selected in the 1999 AFL Draft at pick No. 23. He was recruited to Hawthorn where he spent four seasons from 2000–2003 before being traded to Carlton for pick No. 51 (Matthew Ball). He spent a lot of time at the Hawks playing for its , the Box Hill Hawks, but Carlton's willingness to give recycled players another chance to resurrect their careers saw Johnson join the Blues. Swan Districts Football Club
The Swan Districts Football Club, nicknamed the Swans, is an Australian rules football club playing in the West Australian Football League (WAFL) and WAFL Women's (WAFLW). The club is based at Bassendean Oval, in Bassendean, an eastern suburb of Perth, Western Australia. The club was formed in 1932, and joined the then-Western Australian National Football League (WANFL) in 1934, acting as a successor to the Midland Junction Football Club, which had disbanded during World War I, in the Perth Hills region. The Australian Football League draft is the annual draft of unsigned players, especially new nominations, by Australian rules football teams that participate in the main competition of that sport, the Australian Football League (AFL). The Eastern Football Netball League (known previously as the Eastern Districts Football League and later the Eastern Football League) is an Australian rules football league, based in the eastern suburbs of metropolitan Melbourne. The Leagues Championship Cup, officially branded under the sponsor's name as the Foxtel Cup, was an annual Australian rules football club knockout cup competition involving clubs from the various state league competitions from around Australia. The tournament was organised by the Australian Football League (AFL), and was held annually between 2011 and 2014. It has an alliance with the Hawthorn Football Club, which plays in the Australian Football League. Early Australian rules football in Box Hill – 1903 to 1935 Organised Australian rules football within the municipality of Box Hill can be traced back to the year 1903. In that year Mr EFG Hodges, the proprietor of the "Reporter" newspaper, founded the "Reporter District Football Association".
