Brett Conway
Brett Alan Conway (born March 8, 1975) is a former professional American football player. He was a placekicker for seven seasons with various teams in the National Football League. He was drafted in the third round (#90 overall) by the Green Bay Packers in the 1997 NFL Draft. Conway played college football at Penn State, where his 276 career points rank him second all-time, and his 119 consecutive extra points are a school record. He kicked in four bowl games: Citrus, Rose, Outback, and Fiesta. Conway was drafted by the Packers with the anticipation of him replacing the Packers' former stalwart kicker, Chris Jacke. However, Conway struggled in the pre-season, not making a single field goal in any of the preseason games, and was cut from the team at the end of training camp. Placekicker
Placekicker, or simply kicker (PK or K), is the player in gridiron football who is responsible for the kicking duties of field goals and extra points. In many cases, the placekicker also serves as the team's kickoff specialist or punter. Specialized role The kicker initially was not a specialized role. Prior to the 1934 standardization of the prolate spheroid shape of the ball, drop kicking was the prevalent method of kicking field goals and conversions, but even after its replacement by place kicking, until the 1960s the kicker almost always doubled at another position on the roster. Christopher Lee Jacke (born March 12, 1966) is a former professional American football placekicker best known for playing for the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League. Before his NFL career, Jacke played collegiately at the University of Texas at El Paso. He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the sixth round of the 1989 NFL Draft. He went on to play eight seasons with the Packers from 1989 to 1996. In his last year with the Packers, he assisted them to a 13–3 record and a win in Super Bowl XXXI, defeating the New England Patriots. In 1997, Jacke became a free agent and was signed by the Pittsburgh Steelers. During training camp he was injured and never played a game for them.
