Jindivick
Jindivick is a town in Victoria, Australia, located on Jacksons Track, in the Shire of Baw Baw. The town was first established in 1858 by Joseph Jackson. The word ‘Jindivick’ is an Aboriginal word that is translated to, ‘burst asunder’. History In 1858, Jindivick was established by Joseph Henry Jackson who blazed a track that he named ‘Jackson’s Track’. This track was initially intended to help pastoralists and miners travel from one area to another and to reach Mount Baw Baw. Due to this demand by travellers, in 1877, a general store opened for business in the southern part of the district and a school was later started. A mechanic’s institute hall was constructed in 1886. The first Drouin Post Office opened on 5 April 1876, was renamed Jindivick in 1878 and Drouin West within months. The Tour of Taihu Lake is a stage race (cycling), multi-day road bicycle racing, road cycling race held in China annually in November. It has been held since 2010, but the first edition was a one-day race. The 2010 and 2011 editions were rated 1.2 and 2.2, and was upgraded to 2.1 in 2013. Bay Classic Series
The Bay Classic Series (currently running as the Lexus of Blackburn Bay Crits) is a road cycling race held annually in and around Port Phillip Bay in Victoria, Australia. The race consists of both a men's and a women's competition over three stages. The men's stages are approximately one-hour criteriums (45 minutes plus 10 laps) with three sprints at 15-minute intervals. The women's stages are approximately 45-minute criteriums (30 minutes plus 10 laps) with two sprints at 15-minute intervals. Points are awarded to the first 10 riders at the finish (12, 10, 8 to 1). Additional points are awarded in the intermediate sprints to the first three places (3, 2 & 1 points) towards a separate sprint classification. A team classification is calculated from the points of the highest ranked three riders in each team of five. Australian National Criterium Championships
The Australian National Criterium Championships cover several different categories of Australian road bicycle racing events, normally held annually. The elite event is normally held in the December the preceding year, for example the 2009 championships were held on 14 December 2008, and the 2008 championships were held on 2 December 2007. Occasionally the event will be held in January and under 23 events combined with the elite race. Each year the championships are held in a different location, often incorporated in other annual criterium events. The winners of each event are awarded with a symbolic cycling jersey featuring green and yellow stripes, which can be worn by the rider at other criterium events in the country to show their status as national champion. The champion's stripes can be combined into a sponsored rider's team kit design for this purpose.
