Brenham High School is a public high school located in the city of Brenham, Texas, United States. It is classified as a 5A school by the UIL. Roosevelt Leaks
Roosevelt Leaks Jr. (born January 31, 1953) is a former All-American running back and 2005 inductee to the College Football Hall of Fame. He was the first black All-American player in University of Texas history and went on to play in the National Football League (NFL) for the Baltimore Colts and Buffalo Bills. Early life Born and raised in Brenham, Texas, between Houston and Austin, Leaks grew up on his family's farm, where they raised, among other things, cotton and corn. His father was a farmer and day laborer. Leaks was an all-state running back and linebacker for Brenham High School in 1969 and 1970, and a star hitter and outfielder for the baseball team and helped Brenham win its first state championship in that sport in 1970. Courtland Sutton (born October 10, 1995) is an American football wide receiver for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football at SMU, and was selected by the Broncos in the second round of the 2018 NFL Draft. Wilson Whitley
Wilson Whitley (May 28, 1955 – October 27, 1992) was a consensus All-American defensive tackle at the University of Houston from 1972–1976 under defensive coordinator Don Todd. He led the Cougars to the Southwest Conference championship in football during Houston's first season as a conference member and won the 1976 Lombardi Award as the nation's top lineman. Former President Gerald Ford presented him the award at a ceremony in Houston, Texas. Whitley was drafted in the first round by the Cincinnati Bengals and started alongside another Lombardi Award winner, Ross Browner, for 6 seasons. He was later named to the Southwest Conference "All Decade Team" for the 1970s. Whitley died at the age of 37, due to a heart condition. Limas Lee Sweed Jr. (born December 25, 1984) is a former American football wide receiver. He was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the second round of the 2008 NFL Draft. He was part of their Super Bowl XLIII championship team, beating the Arizona Cardinals. He played college football at Texas. Joe Eugene Routt (October 18, 1914 – December 10, 1944) was an American football player and World War II soldier. College The son of Eugene Otis and Annie Belle (Clay) Routt, Routt attended Texas A&M University from 1933 to 1938 and received a degree in animal husbandry. As a guard on the football team, Routt was named to the All-American football teams of 1936 and 1937. He was the first All-American player for A&M. He played on the 1938 College All-Star team in Chicago and in the East-West Shrine Game at San Francisco.
