Brendan Kennedy
Brendan Kennedy (born 7 December 1974, in Dublin) is an Irish former footballer. Kennedy is the brother of Mark Kennedy - the ex-Irish international and ex- Liverpool player. He is a goalkeeper who played for junior clubs such as Cherry Orchard, Ashtown Villa, and Moyle Park before entering the League of Ireland with Shamrock Rovers in the 1993–94 season. He made one appearance as a substitute for 4 minutes for Rovers in the League of Ireland on 15 August 1993. He played for Dublin City from 2002 to 2004. Kennedy won the League of Ireland First Division championship with City in 2003 but was abruptly discarded by newly installed manager Roddy Collins in the late summer of 2004, whereupon he joined Kildare County, making 11 first-team appearances during the season. He rejoined Dublin City in 2005, but appeared only sporadically in the latter part of the season, James Gallagher, on loan from Finn Harps, being Dermot Keely's preferred goalkeeper. The 1993–94 League of Ireland Premier Division was the 9th season of the League of Ireland Premier Division. The division was made up of 12 teams. Shamrock Rovers won the title. Regular season The regular season initially saw the 12 teams use a traditional round-robin format with each team playing 22 games on a home and away basis. The division was then split into two groups, a top six and a bottom six. After the split, the six teams played the other teams in their group in a second series of 10 games again using a round-robin format. Monaghan United F.C. ( ga, Cumann Peile Mhuineacháin Aontaithe) is an Irish association football club based in Monaghan currently playing in the Ulster Senior League. The club joined the League of Ireland in 1983 and subsequently went on to play in the B Division, the First Division and the Premier Division. Dermot Keely
Dermot Keely (born 8 March 1954) is an Irish former manager and player. He was a schoolteacher by profession. Family Keely's family have played League of Ireland football at various levels. His late father Peter Keely played for Shelbourne., his brother Joe played on the same Home Farm FAI Cup winning side of 1975 as Dermot himself. His son Alan Keely, who died suddenly in May 2021, also played in the League of Ireland. Career Player As a player Keely started with Home Farm and then signed for St. Patrick's Athletic under Barry Bridges who appointed him club captain. He played with Terry Venables while at Richmond Park (football ground). In June 1977 he was about to depart for Adelaide on a 2-year contract when the deal fell through.
