Brendan Coulter
Brendan "Benny" Coulter is an Irish Gaelic football manager and player who plays for his local club Mayobridge and, previously, for the Down senior football team until his retirement in 2014; he also teaches kids about Gaelic in different schools around Northern Ireland. Playing career During his prime, Coulter was regarded as one of the best attackers in Gaelic football. He is Ulster's leading Championship goal scorer of all-time. He won an Ulster Minor Championship Medal in 1999, and later that year won the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship with Down he scored 1-02 in the All Ireland Final. Down manager Pete McGrath selected Coulter to make his debut for the senior team that year, despite his youth. He has since become one of Down's key players. He has captained Down, and has been described as the team's 'talisman'. All-Ireland Vocational Schools Championship
The All-Ireland Vocational Schools Championship was a Gaelic Athletic Association football and hurling competition. There are two levels of competition. Individual schools compete for county, provincial and All-Ireland competitions. County teams selected from schools within each county also competed for provincial and All-Ireland competitions. The final intercounty championships in both codes were played in 2012, while the last schools championships were played in 2013. Ambrose Rogers
Ambrose Rogers is a Gaelic footballer for Down. He was captain in 2010 when Down played in the 2010 All-Ireland Senior Football Championship Final. Ambrose did not play in this match because he had a cruciate ligament injury. This injury occurred in the quarter-final victory over Kerry. He became captain again in 2012. The door was kept open for him and he even tried a cryotherapy bath, going all the way to Tyrone for it, before they opened one in Newry for him. His efforts fell short. Declan Rooney
Declan Rooney (born 1983/1984) is an Irish Gaelic footballer who played in the 2010 All-Ireland Final. He is a defender. A Burren stalwart, he won a Down Senior Football Championship medal in 2010 when his club won that competition for the first since 1997. He won another in 2018, after turning 34 (he missed the 2011 county championship because of going over on his ankle). Liam Doyle is a Gaelic football player from with County Down, Northern Ireland. He plays for the Down senior football team and his local club Liatroim Fontenoys. Doyle was captain of the Down team that won the Ulster Minor Championship in 1999, and later that year won the All-Ireland Minor Football Championship. After nearly three years Doyle made a welcome comeback for the Down men in their 1-10 to 1-09 National Football League win over Donegal. GAA GPA All Stars Awards
The Gaelic Athletic Association-Gaelic Players' Association All Stars Awards (often known simply as the All Stars) are awarded annually to the best player in each of the 15 playing positions in Gaelic football and hurling. Additionally, one player in each code is selected as Player of the Year. The awards were instituted in 1971. Since 2011 they have been presented jointly by the Gaelic Athletic Association and the representative body for inter-county players, the Gaelic Players Association.
