Bree Chester (born 28 June 2002) is an Australian professional rugby league footballer who currently plays as a and forward for the North Queensland Cowboys in the NRL Women's Premiership. She is an Indigenous All Stars representative. Background Chester was born in Port Stephens, New South Wales and is of Indigenous Australian descent. She played her junior rugby league for the Mallabula Panthers. Playing career Early years In 2019, Chester played for the Penrith Panthers in the Tarsha Gale Cup. In 2020 and 2021, she played for the Newcastle Knights Tarsha Gale side. Port Stephens Council (also known simply as Port Stephens) is a local government area in the Hunter Region of New South Wales, Australia. The area is just north of Newcastle and is adjacent to the Pacific Highway which runs through Raymond Terrace, the largest town and Council seat. 2023 NRL Women's Season
The 2023 NRLW Premiership was the sixth professional season of Women's rugby league in Australia. As announced in March 2022 by the governing body, the National Rugby League, the number of teams increased from six to ten. The duration of the season was confirmed by the NRL in a media release on 14 February 2023 as nine rounds followed by semi-finals and a Grand Final. Contracted players were paid for a seven-week preparation period prior to the commencement of the competition, plus two weeks leave, for a total of 20 weeks. The contract period for players was, however, twelve months. The announcement also confirmed a rise in the salary cap from $350,000 in 2022 to $900,000 in 2023. The Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks are an Australian professional rugby league club based in Cronulla, in the Sutherland Shire, Southern Sydney, New South Wales. They compete in the National Rugby League (NRL), Australasia's premier rugby league competition. The 2024 NRL Women's season is the seventh professional season of the NRL Women's Premiership. The number of teams (ten), start date (25 July 2024) and duration of the season (eleven weeks) was confirmed by the NRL, with the release of the draw on 13 November 2023. The Northern Suburbs Devils, or North Brisbane Devils, or often simply referred to as Norths for short, are a rugby league club representing the northern suburbs of Brisbane, Australia. QRL Women's Premiership
The QRL Women's Premiership, known as the BMD Premiership due to sponsorship from BMD Group, is the top level of women's rugby league football in Queensland, Australia. Run by the Queensland Rugby League, the competition is Queensland's first statewide open age women's competition. On 3 March 2021, the QRL announced that the Souths Logan Magpies would not compete in that season's premiership but planned to return in 2022. Valkyries Queensland, a new team made up of players from Souths Logan and other Queensland teams, were named to take their place.
