Bredo Von Munthe Af Morgenstierne
Bredo von Munthe af Morgenstierne (23 September 1701 – 13 January 1757), born Bredo Munthe, was a Norwegian-Danish civil servant, Supreme Court justice and landowner who was raised to the peerage under the name Munthe af Morgenstjerne in 1755. He owned Bækkeskov Manor at Præstø from 1742. Early life and education Munthe was born in the local rectory at Froen, Gudbrandsdalen, Norway, the son of provost Otto Munthe (1659–1733) by his second wife Else Cathrine Hammer (1669–1736). His great-grandfather was Ludvig Munthe. He attended Kristiania Latin School and enrolled at the University of Copenhagen in 1718 where he graduated in theology in 1720 before studying law. Andreas Brünniche
Andreas Pedersen Brünniche (4 April 1704 in Roskilde – 4 November 1769 in Copenhagen) was a Danish portrait painter, active in the period called either late Baroque or early Rococo. Biography Andreas Brünniche was the son of Peder Jacobsen Brünniche and Anne Marensdatter. He came to Copenhagen, where he got a job with Bendix Grodtschilling the Younger and from 1737 at Johann Salomon Wahl's workshop. As his student, he was a much sought portrait painter in the capital, but also raised customers in many other provinces. He was also influenced by baroque masters such as Andreas Møller and Balthasar Denner and by rococo style under a more mature age influenced by Johan Hörner and CG Pilo. Brünniche was a skilled colorist, his ability to convincingly reproduce the tones of the sitter's skin and individualize the people portrayed made him popular and demanded especially among the local nobility. Høsterkøb
Høsterkøb is a village in Rudersdal Municipality, some north of central Copenhagen, Denmark. It is bounded on the south by Rude Forest and on the north by open fields. Etymology The name is derived from ''Husfrecop''. The first part of the name means ''hustru'' ("wife") while the suffix ''-køb'', which is only seen in toponyms from the north of Zealand and Scania, means "purchased land" ("købt jord"). Høsterkøb thus means "land purchased by (a) wife". History The village was probably founded some time during the transition between the Viking Age and the Middle Ages (900–1100). Otto Christopher von Munthe af Morgenstierne (6 January 1735 – 17 March 1809) was a Danish civil servant, judge and landowner. He was the owner of Bækkeskov at Præstø. Early life and education Munthe was born in Copenhagen, the son of Bredo von Munthe af Morgenstierne and Anna Dorothea Smith. He graduated in law from the University of Copenhagen in 1753. His father was ennobled by letters patent under the name Munthe af Morgenstjerne in 1755. Career Munthe af Gyldenstjerne was in 1758 employed as a secretary in Danish Chancellery. In 1758 and as deputy judge on Zealand and Møn. In 1767, he was appointed as War and Land Commissioner of Zealand, Lolland, Falster and Møn. He became a member of the Generalitets- og Kommissariatskollegiet in 178 but was dismissed in 1789, possibly due to his opposition to the abolition of the Stavnsbånd. Gudbrandsdalen (; en, Gudbrand Valley) is a valley and traditional district in the Norwegian county of Innlandet (formerly Oppland). The valley is oriented in a north-westerly direction from Lillehammer and the lake of Mjøsa, extending toward the Romsdalen valley.
