Bredo Greve
Adolf Bredo Stabell Greve (28 June 1871 – 30 March 1931) was a Norwegian architect. Biography Greve was born at Hamar in Hedmark, Norway. He was a son of Mathias Sigwardt Greve (1832–1912) and Blanca Olivia Juell (1836–1918). He was a brother of Ulrikke Greve (1868–1951) and cousin of architect, Georg Greve. Greve was educated at the Technische Hochschule in Berlin which he attended from 1893 to 1895. He was trained a both an architect and engineer. After that he worked as an assistant to professor and architect Bruno Schmitz in Berlin until 1897, went he started his own practice in Oslo. In 1901, Greve won third prize in the competition for the main building of the newly established Norwegian Technical College at Trondheim which was completed in 1910. In 1921, he won the competition for building at the Norwegian School of Business at Bergen. Anita Greve
Anita Ruth Greve (5 August 1905 – 19 September 1972) was a Norwegian painter. She was born in Kristiania as a daughter of Bredo Greve (1871–1931) and Finnish citizen Esther Hougberg (1878–1939). She was a niece of Ulrikke Greve. She studied at the Norwegian National Academy of Fine Arts The Norwegian National Academy of Arts ( no, Statens kunstakademi) is a Norwegian Academy offering studies in the area of Fine Art. Sven (in Danish and Norwegian, also Svend and also in Norwegian most commonly Svein) is a Scandinavian first name which is also used in the Low Countries and German-speaking countries. The name itself is Old Norse for "young man" or "young warrior". The original spelling in Old Norse was ''sveinn''. Bruno Schmitz
Bruno Schmitz (21 November 1858 – 27 April 1916) was a German architect best known for his monuments in the early 20th century. He worked closely with sculptors such as Emil Hundrieser, Nikolaus Geiger and Franz Metzner for integrated architectural and sculptural effect. Schmitz was born in Düsseldorf. His single most famous work is the massive 1913 Völkerschlachtdenkmal (Monument to the Battle of the Nations) located in Leipzig, Saxony, designed with local architect Clemens Thieme. The Monument was inaugurated in 1913 by Kaiser Wilhelm II. Bohemian sculptor Franz Metzner designed the architectural figures, including the powerful and strangely scaled ''Masks of Fate'' in the monument's crypt.
