Break In The Sun
''Break in the Sun'' is a British television serial made by the BBC in 1981. The series, written by Bernard Ashley (author), Bernard Ashley, was considerably more gritty and controversial than standard BBC children's serial fare up until that time, dealing with a young girl, Patsy (Nicola Cowper) running away from her violent stepfather (Brian Hall (actor), Brian Hall) and trying to return to her mother's old home in Margate. The theme tune, "Reflections", was written by John Renbourn. Bernard Ashley (author)
Bernard John Ashley (born April 1935) is a British author of books for children and young adults. His debut novel, ''The Trouble with Donovan Croft'', published in 1974, won "The Other Award", an alternative to the Carnegie Medal. ''A Kind of Wild Justice'' (1978), ''Running Scared'' (1986), and ''Little Soldier'' (1999) were commended runners up for the Carnegie Medal from the Library Association, recognising the year's best children's book. The first two have been reissued by OUP in their Children's Modern Classics series, the third re-issued in a 15th anniversary edition. Ashley's TV drama ''Dodgem'' (based on his own novel) won the Royal Television Society Award for Best Entertainment programme (BBC) in 1993. Nicola Jane Cowper (born 21 December 1967) is a British actress. Cowper is the younger sister of twin actresses Gerry Cowper and Jackie Cowper. Brian Charles Hall (20 November 1937 – 17 September 1997) was an English actor. He is best remembered for his role as hotel chef Terry Hughes in the British sitcom ''Fawlty Towers''. Margate
Margate is a seaside resort, seaside town on the north coast of Kent in south-east England. The town is estimated to be 1.5 miles long, north-east of Canterbury and includes Cliftonville, Garlinge, Palm Bay, UK, Palm Bay and Westbrook, Kent, Westbrook. John Renbourn
John Renbourn (8 August 1944 – 26 March 2015) was an English guitarist and songwriter. He was best known for his collaboration with guitarist Bert Jansch as well as his work with the folk group Pentangle, although he maintained a solo career before, during and after that band's existence (1967–1973). He worked later in a duo with Stefan Grossman. While most commonly labelled a folk musician, Renbourn's musical tastes and interests took in early music, classical music, jazz, blues and world music. His most influential album, ''Sir John Alot'' (1968), featured his take on tunes from the medieval period.
