Brazil 76–0 Timor-Leste (futsal)
On 13 October 2006, the Brazil national futsal team and Timor-Leste national futsal team faced each other in an international futsal match that was part of the 2006 Lusophony Games, hosted that year by Macau. Brazil defeated Timor-Leste 76–0, setting a world record for largest win in an international futsal match. One of Brazil's players, Valdin, scored 20 goals, which is another record. It was Brazil's biggest margin of victory since they beat Uruguay 38–3 in the 1991 Pan American Games. Timor-Leste was coming off a 56–0 loss to Portugal, which was the previous world record. Background Brazil was the favorite to win the Lusophony Games, while this was one of Timor-Leste's first games. The Brazil national futsal team represents Brazil during international futsal competitions. It is under the direction of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF). The team is considered to be the strongest in the world earning a record three straight championships in the FIFA Futsal World Cup. Brazil also holds a record twelve championship wins in the South American Futsal Championship also known as the Copa América de Futsal and five wins in the Taça América de Futsal. Fábio Daniel Januário known simply as Januário (born September 3, 1979 in Londrina, Paraná, Brazil) is a retired Brazilian professional footballer. He played for Esteghlal in the Iran's Premier Football League before being released because of heavy injury. He usually played in the midfielder position. Club career Januário began playing club football with Cascavel Esporte Clube while he was studying engineering. After he received his degree, he started his professional career playing for a number of provincial league teams in Brazil before moving the Campeonato Brasileiro Série A team Esporte Clube Vitória. After a season at Esporte Clube Vitória he moved from the Campeonato Brasileira Seria A to the Portuguese Liga where he played for Gil Vicente and C.F. Os Belenenses. Eduardo Gonçalves de Andrade (born 25 January 1947), generally known as Tostão, is a Brazilian former professional footballer who played as a forward or attacking midfielder. Tostão was an intelligent, hardworking and prolific left-footed forward, who was known for his creativity and technical skills, and was considered one of the best players in the world in his prime. He played most of his 11-year career with Cruzeiro. Tostão represented Brazil in two World Cups, winning the tournament in 1970. He formed a lethal offensive partnership with Pelé in the national team.
