Brava Regional Football Association (Portuguese: ''Associação Regional de Futebol da Brava'', abbreviation: ''ARFB'') is a football (soccer) association covering the island of Brava . It is headquartered in the island capital of Nova Sintra. The association are one of six in Cape Verde that covers only one municipality. It is the sublevel of the Capeverdean Football Federation. The championship only has a single division where seven clubs participate, a club with the most points promotes into the National Championships. It has the fewest teams in the Capeverdean football or soccer and is also the smallest in area. History The association was founded in 1982, a few years after independence. Formerly consisted of four clubs, it later risen to five, six in 2003 and seven since 2012. From 2005 to 2010, it shared the fewest teams with the island of Sal, in 2011, Brava had the 10th fewest clubs until Sal added more clubs in 2014 and put the competition into two divisions. Estádio Aquiles de Olveira, also as Aquilo de Oliveira is a multi-use stadium in Nova Sintra on the island of Brava, Cape Verde, as the island size is small, it is the only sports venue on the island. It is used mostly for football matches and is the home stadium of Académica, Benfica and Sporting, clubs based from other parts of the municipality outside Nova Sintra plays at the stadium including SC Juventude da Furna and SC Morabeza. The Cape Verdean Football Federation ( pt, Federação Caboverdiana de Futebol, FCF) is the governing body of football in Cape Verde. It was founded in 1982, affiliated to FIFA in 1986 and to CAF in 2000. It organizes the national football league and the national team. Its current president is Victor Osório since 2015. The federation is headquartered in the capital city of Praia and is located on Avenida Cidade de Lisboa in the subdivision of Várzea where the sport complexes are located. Its office is just south of Estádio da Várzea and features a small field on the east part. The building was completed in 2006 after the nearby stadium was also repaired. Brava Island Super Cup
The Brava Super Cup (Portuguese: Super Taça da Brava, Capeverdean Creole: ALUPEK: ''Super Tasa da Braba'', Brava Creole: ''Super Taça Dja Braba'') is a regional super cup competition played during the season in the island of Brava, Cape Verde. The competition is organized by the Brava Regional Football Association (Associação Regional de Futebol da Brava, ARFB). Its current champions is Académica da Brava who won their only title in 2016. The regional champion competes with the cup champion. If a champion also has a cup title, a cup club who is runner-up qualifies. Several cancellations occurred including in 2011 when all of the regional football competitions were canceled. The 2015 regional cup competition was not held and recently the 2017 competition was canceled due to that the 2016-17 Brava Cup did not take place due to financial or scheduling problems. The Brava Island Opening Tournament (Portuguese: ''Torneio de Abertura da Brava'', Capeverdean Crioulo, ALUPEC or ALUPEK: ''Turnéu di Abertura da Braba''), is an opening tournament competition (equivalent to a league cup) played during the season in the island of Brava, Cape Verde The competition is organized by the Brava Regional Football Association (''Associação Regional de Futebol da Brava, ARFB''). Some seasons featured rounds of one portion, some seasons featured three rounds and two groups with the top club of each group in the final match.
