Braun GmbH ( "brown"; ) is a German consumer products company founded in 1921 and based in Kronberg im Taunus. The company is particularly well known for its industrial product design from the mid-20th century which included electric shavers and record players. From 1984 until 2007, Braun was a wholly owned subsidiary of The Gillette Company, which had purchased a controlling interest in the company in 1967. Christopher & Banks is an American retail company. Originally headquartered in the Minneapolis suburb of Plymouth, Minnesota, it specializes in women's clothing for the age 40-60 demographic. In January 2021, the company filed for bankruptcy and closed all stores due to financial loss from the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Following the bankruptcy and closures, Christopher & Banks' assets and intellectual property were acquired by Eden Prairie-based iMedia Brands. Carl Braun Camera-Werk of Nuremberg, Germany, or Braun, as it was more commonly called, was founded as an optical production house. It is best known for its 35mm film cameras named Paxette, and for slide projectors named Paximat. History The company was founded in 1915 under name of ''Karl Braun KG, Fabrik optischer Geräte und Metallwaren'' for the fabrication of optical appliances and metalware. In 1948, the company began producing box film cameras, in rollfilm and 35mm format. It changed its name to ''Carl Braun Camera-Werke''. Braun Motorsports, formerly known as Braun Racing, was an American professional stock car racing team that last competed in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series. The team is based in Mooresville, North Carolina. Best known as one of the top independent Xfinity Series teams from 2003 to 2010, the team also made several starts in the Sprint Cup Series. BraunAbility is an American manufacturer of wheelchair accessible vans and wheelchair lifts based in Winamac, Indiana. It is currently owned by Investor AB. The company was founded by Ralph Braun, who had spinal muscular atrophy. Braun designed a wheelchair lift and steering controls, which allowed him to drive a 1970 converted full size Dodge van.
