Branquignol
''Branquignol'' is a 1949 French comedy film directed by Robert Dhéry and starring Colette Brosset, Julien Carette and Annette Poivre.Oscherwitz & Higgins p.143 It takes its name from a comedy troupe of the same name. It was shot at the Epinay Studios in Paris. The film's sets were designed by the art director Roger Briaucourt. Synospsi The Marquis de Pressaille plans to announce his engagement during a gala show. However in support of one of their friends who is in love with his intended bride, the Branquignol sets out to sabotage the announcement. Robert Dhéry (27 April 1921 – 3 December 2004) (born Robert Léon Henri Fourrey or Robert Foullcy) was a French comedian, actor, director and screenwriter. He was married to actor Colette Brosset, with whom he appeared onstage in ''La Plume de Ma Tante''. Jean Carmet
Jean Carmet (25 April 1920 – 20 April 1994) was a French actor. Life and career Jean Carmet began working on stage and then in film in the early 1940s becoming a very popular comedic actor in his native country. He is best known internationally for his role as a French colonist in the 1976 film, '' La Victoire en Chantant'' (Black and White in Color). Because of his good-natured manner, he was as popular with members of the film crew as he was with the audiences. During his long career, he appeared in more than 200 films, and although he played dramatic parts, he usually acted in a supporting role as a comedic character. He was nominated for the César Award for Best Actor for his leading role in the 1986 film, '' Miss Mona''. Gérard Calvi
Gérard Calvi (born Grégoire Krettly; 26 July 1922 – 20 February 2015) was a French composer. Interested in music from an early age, Calvi's first composing work was for the French production ''The Patron'' in 1949. From here he provided music for various French films, most notably ''Gangster Boss'', as well as the show ''La Plume de Ma Tante'', which was nominated for Best Musical at the 13th Tony Awards. He composed music for three Asterix films: ''Asterix the Gaul'', ''Asterix and Cleopatra'' and ''The Twelve Tasks of Asterix''. He also composed the memorable Asterix theme for the first film, which was dispensed with by the time the music for ''The Twelve Tasks of Asterix'' was composed in 1976.
