Branimir ( la, Branimiro) was a ruler of Croatia who reigned as duke ( hr, knez) from 879 to 892. His country received papal recognition as a state from Pope John VIII on 7 June 879. Branimir "Johnny" Štulić (born 11 April 1953) is a Yugoslav singer-songwriter, musician and author, best known for being the frontman of the popular Yugoslav rock group Azra. He is known for his charismatic stage performances and inspiring song lyrics that often combined rock poetry with a strong sense for social commentary, which is the cause for his becoming a cult figure. Early life Štulić was born on 11 April 1953, in Skopje, where his mother Slavica (née Milovac) and father Ivan Štulić–an officer in the Yugoslav People's Army–were stationed at the time. Branimir Glavaš
Branimir Glavaš (born 23 September 1956 in Osijek) is a Croatian former major general and right-wing politician. He was one of the founders of the Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) party which was in power in the 1990s and one of its key figures until a split in 2006. In 2009 he was found guilty of war crimes. Glavaš came to prominence in his home city of Osijek in eastern Croatia during the 1991–95 war of independence when he led its defense and attained the rank of major general in the Croatian Army. After the war he continued to exercise much influence as one of the leading members of Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ). Branimir Subašić ( sr-Cyrl, Бранимир Субашић, az, Branimir Subaşiç; born 7 April 1982) is a Serbian-born retired Azerbaijani footballer who played as a striker. During his 18 year professional career, Subasic played for 15 clubs in 8 countries, mostly in Azerbaijan, Serbia and Turkey. Branimir Petev Kostadinov ( bg, Бранимир Петев Костадинов; born 4 March 1989) is a Bulgarian footballer who currently plays as a forward for Ludogorets Razgrad II. Career Branimir's first club was Slavia Sofia, them moved to the youth squads of Austrian LASK Linz. In 2006 Kostadinov joined Heart of Midlothian as an amateur player. He was unable to play in competitive under-19 matches until his country joined the European Union. Branimir Bajić (Cyrillic: Бранимир Бајић; born 19 October 1979) is a Bosnian former professional footballer who played as a defender. Club career After playing for Radnik Bijeljina, Bajić was transferred to Partizan in July 2000. He scored a 90th-minute goal to give his team a 1–0 win over Rapid Wien in the first leg of the 2001–02 UEFA Cup first round. Branimir "Branko" Jelić (28 February 1905, Donji Dolac, Kingdom of Dalmatia, Austro-Hungarian Monarchy – 31 May 1972, West Berlin) was an exiled Croatian nationalist and doctor of medicine. Branimir Makanec (born 17 May 1932) is a Croatian computer engineer and programmer. Outside of his research work, he is also known in his native country as a pioneering advocate for computer literacy amongst school-aged children. Background and education Makanec is the son of Croatian nationalist academic and Ustashe politician Julije Makanec, a member of the aristocratic Makanec family who have produced many scholars and politicians. He was born in Koprivnica near the present-day Hungarian border when his father was a teacher at the local gymnasium.
