Brandon Pettigrew
Brandon Dennard Pettigrew (born February 23, 1985) is a former American football tight end. He played college football at Oklahoma State. He was drafted in the first round (20th overall) of the 2009 NFL Draft by the Detroit Lions, and spent his entire 8-year career with the team. High school career Brandon Pettigrew played high school football at Robert E. Lee High School in Tyler, Texas, where he was teammates with Matt Flynn, Justin Warren, and Ciron Black. While at Robert E. Lee, Pettigrew played as a tight end and on defense. As a senior, he was named All-District and All-East Texas. He was also one of three players to be named to the All-State team. He chose to attend Oklahoma State University over Texas A&M, Texas Christian University (TCU), Southern Methodist University (SMU) and Arkansas. Tight End
The tight end (TE) is a position in American football, arena football, and Canadian football, on the offense. The tight end is often a hybrid position with the characteristics and roles of both an offensive lineman and a wide receiver. Like offensive linemen, they are usually lined up on the offensive line and are large enough to be effective blockers. On the other hand, unlike offensive linemen, they are eligible receivers adept enough to warrant a defense's attention when running pass patterns. Because of the hybrid nature of the position, the tight end's role in any given offense depends on the tactical preferences and philosophy of the head coach as well as overall team dynamic. Ciron Black
The Ciron (; oc, Siron) is a left tributary of the Garonne, in Gironde, Southwest France. It is long. Geography The Ciron rises in the eastern end of the Moors of Gascony, in Landes. It flows north-west, mainly through the moors of Gironde, crosses the Sauternes vineyard and joins the Garonne at Barsac, downstream from Langon. The moisture it brings, and morning mists it causes, are favorable to the development of ''Botrytis cinerea'' on grapes, a fungus that contributes to the high quality and renown of Sauternes wines. Touchdown
A touchdown (abbreviated as TD) is a scoring play in gridiron football. Whether running, passing, returning a kickoff or punt, or recovering a turnover, a team scores a touchdown by advancing the ball into the opponent's end zone. In American football, a touchdown is worth six points and is followed by an extra point or two-point conversion attempt. Reception (gridiron Football)
In gridiron football, a reception, also known informally as a catch, is part of a passing play in which a player in bounds successfully catches (receives) a forward pass thrown from a friendly quarterback behind the line of scrimmage. After making the catch, the receiver will then proceed to run towards the opposing end zone carrying the ball and try to score a touchdown, unless the play ends due to him being downed or forced out of bounds. Yardage gained from the passing play are credited to the catcher as his receiving yards. If the pass is not caught by anyone, it is called an incomplete pass or simply an "incompletion".
