Brancou Badio
El Hadji Omar Brancou Badio (born 17 February 1999), nicknamed "Papi", is a Senegalese professional basketball player for Baxi Manresa of the Liga ACB. He also plays for the Senegal national basketball team. Early life and career Badio was born in Rufisque, Senegal and played for Saltigué in his hometown, competing at the senior level by the age of 15. His older sister Marietou had played for Saltigué. He was named Revelation Player of his league in 2018. Badio moved to Spain to join Canarias Basketball Academy and played for its affiliated team La Matanza in the Liga EBA. Professional career For the 2019–20 season, Badio signed with FC Barcelona. He averaged 13.4 points per game while shooting 40 percent from three-point range for the club's reserve team in the LEB Plata. He declared for the 2020 NBA draft. The point guard (PG), also called the one or the point, is one of the five Basketball positions, positions in a regulation basketball game. A point guard has perhaps the most specialized role of any position. Point guards are expected to run the team's offense by controlling the ball and making sure that it gets to the right player at the right time. The draft was originally scheduled to be held at Barclays Center in Brooklyn on June 25, but due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, it was instead conducted at ESPN's facilities in Bristol, Connecticut, with the event held via videoconferencing. AfroBasket 2021
FIBA AfroBasket 2021 was the 30th edition of the FIBA AfroBasket, a men's basketball continental championship of Africa. The tournament was hosted by Rwanda for the first time. It was originally scheduled to take place between 17 and 29 August 2021, but it was moved back a week due to the COVID-19 pandemic, to 24 August to 5 September 2021. The tournament featured 16 teams, with South Sudan debuting at the AfroBasket stage.
