Brampton—Springdale was a provincial electoral district in central Ontario, Canada. It was created for the 2007 provincial election. 83.7% of the district was created from Brampton Centre while 16.3% was carved from Bramalea—Gore—Malton—Springdale. The riding includes that part of Brampton west of a line following Dixie Road to Bovaird Drive to Torbram Road and east of a line following Hurontario Street to Vodden Street to Kennedy Road. Regional Municipality Of Peel
The Regional Municipality of Peel (informally Peel Region or Region of Peel, also formerly Peel County) is a regional municipality in the Greater Toronto Area, Southern Ontario, Canada. It consists of three municipalities to the west and northwest of the city of Toronto: the cities of Mississauga and Brampton, and the town of Caledon, each of which spans its full east–west width. A referendum was held on October 10, 2007, on the question of whether to establish a mixed member proportional representation (MMP) system for elections to the Legislative Assembly of Ontario. The vote was strongly in favour of the existing plurality voting or first-past-the-post (FPTP) system. Elizabeth Rowley (born c. 1949) is the current leader of the Communist Party of Canada. A long-time politician, writer, and political activist, Rowley served as a school trustee in the former Toronto borough of East York. Before becoming leader of the Communist Party of Canada, Rowley was leader of the Communist Party of Ontario. John Carman McClelland (September 22, 1951 – June 1, 2022) was a Canadian politician in Ontario. He was an Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario from 1987 to 1995 who represented the riding of Brampton North. Linda Jeffrey (born ) is a politician in Ontario, Canada. From 2003 to 2014 she was a Liberal member of the Legislative Assembly of Ontario who represented the ridings of Brampton Centre and then Brampton—Springdale. Hurontario Street is a roadway running in Ontario, Canada between Lake Ontario at Mississauga and Lake Huron's Georgian Bay at Collingwood. Within Peel Region, it is a major urban thoroughfare within the cities of Mississauga and Brampton, which serves as the divide from which cross-streets are split into ''East'' and ''West'', except at its foot in the historic Mississauga neighbourhood of Port Credit.
