Brajanath Rath
Brajanath Ratha (12 January 1936 – 31 May 2014) was an Indian poet who wrote in Odia. Brajanath Ratha is internationally recognised and is the recipient of many prestigious awards like the Odisha Sahitya Academy Award, Vishuba Award, Gokarnika Award, First Shudramuni Sahitya Award and Honoured by South Korea's Ambassador, from Global Cooperation Society International, Seol, Republic of Korea for Contribution in World welfare, Cooperation and Services. Ratha was awarded with Tagore Literature Awards in 2010 for Samanya Asamanya, a poetry collection containing three types of poems: progressive, satirical and philosophical. This unique collection carries the message of hope to mankind. His first poem was written to welcome India's independence in 1947. He has been conferred with the highest honours from the Odisha Sahitya Academy Award for Manara Manachitra (Map of the Mind) to the Silver Jubilee Award for poetry by Prajatantra Prachar Samiti, Cuttack. Sambalpur University
Sambalpur University is located in Burla town, of district Sambalpur, India, in the state of Odisha. Popularly known as Jyoti Vihar, it offers courses at the undergraduate and post-graduate levels. The governor of Odisha is the chancellor of the university. The campus is located 15 km away from Sambalpur. History On 10 December 1966 the Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature, which provided for the establishment of a university in the Western part of Odisha. This institute started from 1 January 1967. The first vice-chancellor was Prof. Parasuram Mishra. Odia Literature
Odia literature is literature written in the Odia language, mostly from the Indian state of Odisha. The modern Odia language is mostly formed from Tadbhava words with significant Sanskrit (Tatsama) influences, along with loanwoards from Desaja, English, Hindustani (Hindi/Urdu), Persian, and Arabic. Its earliest written texts date from around 1000 CE. The earliest Odia newspaper was '' Utkala Deepika'', first published on August 4, 1866. Historians have divided Odia literature into five main stages: Old Odia (800 AD to 1300 AD), Early Medieval Odia (1300 AD to 1500 AD), Medieval Odia (1500 AD to 1700 AD), Late Medieval Odia (1700 AD to 1850 AD) and Modern Odia (1870 AD to present). Fakir Mohan University
Fakir Mohan University (FM University) is a state university located at Nuapadhi, Balasore, Odisha, India. It is named after Odia writer Fakir Mohan Senapati. History This university was established by the Government of Odisha, under Section 32 of the Odisha Universities Act, 1989 (Act 5 of 1989). It was carved out of the Utkal University in 1999 and acts as an affiliating university. FM University has 93 colleges and 15,000 students at the graduate and postgraduate levels. It is the only university in India that offers a postgraduate course in Ballistics.
