Brainerd High School is a public high school in Brainerd, Minnesota, United States. It serves grades 9–12 and is a part of Brainerd Public Schools. It was designed by Stegner, Hendrickson, & McNut. Ninth grade is served by the south campus. In addition to Brainerd, the school also serves the communities of Baxter, Fort Ripley, Garrison, Merrifield, and most of Nisswa. History Brainerd High School was established in 1889 as the demand for a second special school, and eventually, its replacement in Crow Wing County needed to be fulfilled. While the intended use for the school was for children with special needs, in 2007 the school was expanded to help physically disabled children as well. Brainerd High School (North and South campuses) are currently undergoing plans for major renovations, including a new fine arts auditorium connected to the North campus of the school. Brock Larson
Brock Orville Larson (born August 23, 1977) is a retired American professional mixed martial artist who competed in the Welterweight and Middleweight divisions. A professional competitor from 2002 until 2016, Larson has formerly competed for the UFC, the WEC, and ONE FC. Background Larson is from Brainerd, Minnesota and was raised on a beef farm. Larson began competing in wrestling from a young age, continuing with the sport at Brainerd High School. Later while attending Itasca Community College, Larson was introduced to Brazilian jiu-jitsu by a friend. The Nashville Predators (commonly referred to as the Preds) are a professional ice hockey team based in Nashville, Tennessee. They compete in the National Hockey League (NHL) as a member of the Central Division in the Western Conference, and have played their home games at Bridgestone Arena since 1998. Their television broadcasting rights are held by Bally Sports South, and the Nashville Predators Radio Network flagship station is WPRT-FM. Cole Smith (born October 28, 1995) is an American professional ice hockey player currently playing with the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League (NHL). Early life Smith was born on October 28, 1995, in Brainerd, Minnesota, to Tom and Kris Smith. He was born into an athletic family as his mother, father, sister, uncle, and numerous cousins all participated in sports at the college level. His father played football at St. Cloud State University and mother ran track at Concordia College (Moorhead, Minnesota), Concordia College-Moorhead. His youngest sister Gabbie plays ice hockey for Bemidji State University (BSU) while his middle sister Allyson played soccer for BSU. His uncle Sandy also played collegiate hockey and played professionally for Eisbären Berlin in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga.
