''Brain Box'' is a live, interactive quiz show, showing in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland on UTV, and in Scotland on STV, airing every night, beginning after midnight. The quiz show launched on UTV in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland on Monday 3 August 2009, and on STV in Scotland just over a year later, on Thursday 19 August 2010. The show began airing on TV3 in the Republic of Ireland on 9 September 2010, just 7 months after the axing of the controversial '' Play TV''. The channel ceased transmission of the programme just a week later, without explanation. ''Brain Box'' is a commercial presentation, by NetPlay TV – in association with Challenge Jackpot. ''Quiz Call'' was a late night/early morning phone-in quiz TV show, produced by Ostrich Media (owned by iTouch) for Five, Five US and Five Life. History Launch ''Quiz Call'' was launched as a standalone participation television channel in August 2005 on the Freeview and NTL platforms, and launched on the Sky Digital platform shortly afterwards. Teddington Studios was a large British television studio in Teddington, London Borough of Richmond upon Thames, providing studio facilities for programmes airing on the BBC, ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, Sky1 and others. The complex also provided studio space for channel continuity. The site was run by the Pinewood Studios Group. Originally built as film studios, the studios were the main production centres for the ITV franchisees ABC Weekend TV and Thames Television. ''Play TV'' is an Irish late-night/early-morning phone-in quiz show produced by Telemedia InteracTV and broadcast by TV3 from May 2009 to March 2010. The show was broadcast live every night of the week, Monday to Sunday, from 12:00am to 3:00am from InteracTV's headquarters in Budapest, Hungary. The programme was very controversial, with numerous complaints against it made to the Broadcasting Authority of Ireland. STV is a Scottish free-to-air public broadcast television channel owned and operated by the STV Group.
