Ahmed Brahim (born 1945) is a convicted al-Qaeda member from Algeria. Spanish authorities arrested him in 2002 on charges that he was a chief financier for al-Qaeda in Spain. Ahmed Brahim (Tunisian Politician)
Ahmed Brahim ( ar, أحمد إبراهيم, ''ʾAḥmad Ibrāhīm''; 14 June 1946 – 14 April 2016) was a Tunisian politician. He was the First Secretary of Ettajdid Movement and the leader of the Democratic Modernist Pole until April 2012, when his party merged into the Social Democratic Path of which he became the president. He was the Ettajdid Movement's candidate for President of Tunisia in the 2009 presidential election. A linguist by profession, he was a professor of French at Tunis University; his area of study was comparative linguistics. Amel Brahim-Djelloul is a soprano opera singer and concert recitalist. She is Algerian with Berber origins. Biography Considered one of the most promising singers of her generation, Amel Brahim-Djelloul started her musical studies with the violin. She began studying singing in 1995 in Algiers under the tuition of Abdelhamid Belferouni. It was Noelle Barker who advised her to go to Paris to finish her training, and she studied at the '' Ecole Nationale de Musique'' at Montreuil with Frantz Petri and then at the ''Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique'' in Paris with Peggy Bouveret and Malcolm Walker, with whom she has since been working. Mariam Brahim is a Chadian physician. She worked as a professor and pediatrician at the University of N'Djamena. Educated in the Soviet Union, she graduated from a medical school in Leningrad in 1983 and earned her doctorate from the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow in 1997. Along with physician Grace Kodindo, Brahim coordinated and supervised public health programs for children's health in Chad from 1997 to 2006.
