Brady Eutaw Mendheim Jr. (born July 26, 1968) is an American jurist who serves as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of Alabama. Biography Mendheim earned his Bachelor of Arts from Auburn University and his Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law. In law school, he was a member of the law review ''American Journal of Trial Advocacy'' and also served as a legal-research and writing instructor to first-year law students. Before becoming a judge in 2001, he was an assistant district attorney for the 20th Judicial Circuit for almost seven years. During that time he served on the board of directors of the Southeast Alabama Child Advocacy Center. Before becoming an assistant district attorney, he worked with a general-practice law firm in Dothan with a focus on defense in civil litigation. The Supreme Court of Alabama is the highest court in the state of Alabama. The court consists of a chief justice and eight associate justices. Each justice is elected in partisan elections for staggered six-year terms. The Supreme Court is housed in the Heflin-Torbert Judicial Building in downtown Montgomery, Alabama. The Governor of Alabama may fill vacancies when they occur for the remainder of unexpired terms. The current partisan line-up for the court is all Republican. There is no specific limitation on the number of terms to which a member may be elected.
