Brad Walsh (footballer)
Bradley Walsh (born 3 September 1996) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). A solid inside midfielder from Rockingham, Walsh played colts (under-19) football for Peel Thunder, and played a handful of senior games for Peel as a teenager in 2013 and 2014. His onfield leadership as a junior was well regarded, and consequently he captained Western Australia at the 2014 AFL Under 18 Championships. Walsh also represented Western Australia at basketball as a junior. Walsh was recruited to the AFL by in the second round of the 2015 Rookie Draft (pick No. 24 overall). Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the oval ball between the central goal posts (worth six points), or between a central and outer post (worth one point, otherwise known as a "behind"). During general play, players may position themselves anywhere on the field and use any part of their bodies to move the ball. The primary methods are kicking, handballing and running with the ball. 2015 AFL Season
The 2015 AFL season was the 119th season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season featured eighteen clubs, ran from 2 April until 3 October, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top eight clubs. The premiership was won by the Hawthorn Football Club for the 13th time and third time consecutively, after it defeated by 46 points in the 2015 AFL Grand Final. The Preston Football Club, which trades and plays as the Northern Bullants, is a long-established Australian rules football club based in Preston that plays in the Victorian Football League (VFL). It plays its home games at the Preston City Oval. The club was established in 1882 as the Preston Football Club. The club participated in the Victorian Football Association (VFA) between 1903 and 1911, and then since 1926.
