Brad Purdie
Brad Purdie (born July 11, 1972) is a Canadian retired professional ice hockey centre. Early life Born in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, Quebec, Purdie spent four seasons with the Maine Black Bears men's ice hockey team. Career Purdie began his professional career in the East Coast Hockey League with the Dayton Bombers and the Peoria Rivermen, and in the American Hockey League with the Cornwall Aces before spending three seasons in the International Hockey League. He played for the Chicago Wolves before joining the Manitoba Moose, finishing second in points with 72 behind Greg Pankewicz's 76. He then moved to the Fort Wayne Komets, where he scored 68 points and again finished second in points with Vyacheslav Butsayev leading the team with 72. In 1999, Purdie moved to Austria and joined EC VSV, where he led the team with 32 goals and 50 assists for 82 points in 33 games. The centre (or center in the United States) in ice hockey is a forward (hockey), forward position of a player whose primary Hockey rink#Zones, zone of play is the middle of the ice, away from the sideboards. Greg Pankewicz
Greg Pankewicz (born October 6, 1970) is a Canadian ice hockey coach and former professional ice hockey player. Pankewicz played 21 games in the National Hockey League for the Ottawa Senators and Calgary Flames. He recorded three assists and 22 penalty minutes in his NHL career. From 2003 to 2009, he played for the Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League. Pankewicz turned pro in 1992, and spent most of his 16 seasons in the minor leagues, recording over 500 professional goals. In 2006–07, he helped lead the Eagles to their second Ray Miron President's Cup title in three years. Pankewicz's 32 points in the playoffs set a CHL league record, and earned him the playoff MVP. In 2009, Pankewicz retired from the Eagles and as franchise leading goal-scorer he was the first Eagle to have his number 89 retired by the team. South East Prairie Thunder
The South East Prairie Thunder are a Canadian Senior 'AAA' ice hockey team based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba and two-time Allan Cup champions. They play an independent schedule under the jurisdiction of Hockey Manitoba. The team is inactive as of 2021. History The team was founded in 2004 as the Grunthal Red Wings and based out of Grunthal, Manitoba. The Red Wings became the Southeast Prairie Thunder, relocating to Steinbach in 2006 and playing out of the T.G. Smith Centre from 2006 to 2017. The Steinbach Black Wings Linz are a member of the Austrian Hockey League. They play their home games in Linz, Austria at the Keine Sorgen EisArena. History The EHC Black Wings Linz was founded in 1992. After several years in the Austrian minor leagues 2000 the Black Wings started in the highest league Erste Bank Eishockey Liga. Iserlohn Roosters
The Iserlohn Roosters are a professional ice hockey team based in Iserlohn, North Rhine-Westphalia. They are members of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL) since 2000 and play their home games at the Eissporthalle Iserlohn which is also known as ''Eissporthalle am Seilersee''. The team made the playoffs three times in its first 15 seasons in the DEL. Hamburg Freezers
The Hamburg Freezers were a German professional men's ice hockey club from Hamburg, Germany that played in the Deutsche Eishockey Liga. The club announced its withdrawal from the DEL and ceased operations on 24 May 2016 when Anschutz Entertainment Group, who owned both the Freezers and Eisbären Berlin, felt it was no longer financially viable to own two teams within the same hockey league. The Freezers were originally known as the Munich Barons from 1999 until 2002, before team owner Philip Anschutz relocated the franchise to Hamburg for financial reasons on 3 June 2002. The Krefeld Pinguine (Krefeld Penguins) are an ice hockey team in the DEL2. Their home ice is in Krefeld, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany at the König Palast. Founded first in 1936 by Willi Münstermann, the pro team became a limited liability company in 1994 and joined the top tier Deutsche Eishockey Liga. EC VSV
EC Grand Immo VSV are an ice hockey team in the ICE Hockey League. They play their home games at Stadthalle (capacity approximately 4500 spectators) in Villach, Austria. The team colors are blue and white. Their mascot is an eagle - Villach's coat of arms represents an eagle's claw. History By winning the second divisions title in the 1976–77 season EC VSV gained automatic promotion to Austria's highest league and has tenured since.
