Brad Malone
Bradley Malone (born May 20, 1989) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who plays for the Bakersfield Condors in the American Hockey League (AHL) while under contract to the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL). He has previously played with the Colorado Avalanche, with whom he was drafted, and the Carolina Hurricanes. Playing career Malone was born in Chatham, New Brunswick, where he played hockey as a youth. Malone left home at age 15 to begin his hockey career at Cushing Academy, a small prep school located in Ashburnham, Massachusetts. At 17 Malone joined the USHL and played with the Sioux Falls Stampede, scoring 33 points in 57 games, after which he was drafted 105th overall by the Colorado Avalanche in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft. Chatham, New Brunswick
Chatham is an urban neighbourhood in the city of Miramichi, New Brunswick, Canada. Prior to municipal amalgamation in 1995, Chatham was an incorporated town in Northumberland County along the south bank of the Miramichi River opposite Douglastown. Since amalgamation, it has been sometimes referred to as Miramichi East. Impact of geography on history At Chatham, the Miramichi River is quite wide, the water salt and tidal. Just downstream from the town, the river begins to widen into a broad estuary, where the Miramichi River gradually becomes Miramichi Bay. WCHA
The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) is a college athletic conference which operates in the Midwestern United States. It participates in the NCAA's Division I as a women's ice hockey-only conference. From 1951 to 1999, it operated as a men-only league, adding women's competition in the 1999–2000 season. It operated men's and women's leagues through the 2020–21 season; during this period, the men's WCHA expanded to include teams far removed from its traditional Midwestern base, with members in Alabama, Alaska, and Colorado at different times. The men's side of the league officially disbanded after seven members left to form the revived Central Collegiate Hockey Association (CCHA); the WCHA remains in operation as a women-only league. Kevin M. Porter (born March 12, 1986) is an American former professional National Hockey League (NHL) center. Playing career Amateur As a youth, Porter played in the 2000 Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament with a minor ice hockey team from Michigan. Porter was drafted in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Phoenix Coyotes in the fourth round, 119th overall.
