Bracknell Queen Bees
Bracknell Queen Bees IHC is a women’s ice hockey club based in Bracknell, Berkshire, England. They are located at the John Nike Leisuresport complex in Bracknell. Their home ice rink is affectionately known as the Hive. The club operates three teams, which compete in various levels of the English Ice Hockey Association, EIHA’s Women's National Ice Hockey League (WNIHL): The Queen Bees compete in the WNIHL Elite. The Fire Bees compete in the WNIHL League. The Ice Bees compete in the WNIHL Division U16 South. The Queen Bees club was founded November 1987, when the rink at Bracknell opened. It has supplied players for the GB ice or inline / skater hockey teams in most years since. The Firebees team was formed later as a development squad in September 2005, entering division 1 for its maiden season in 2006 after 6 friendlies. In 2007 the Ice Bees were formed. Bracknell () is a large town and civil parish in Berkshire, England, the westernmost area within the Greater London Built-up Area, Greater London Urban Area and the administrative centre of the Bracknell Forest, Borough of Bracknell Forest. Women's Ice Hockey In Great Britain
Women's ice hockey in Great Britain is administered by the English and Scottish Ice Hockey Associations. It is one of the fastest growing areas of the game. The British Women's Leagues were formed with six teams in 1984. The founder members of the league were: *Brighton Amazons *Cambridge University *Oxford University *Peterborough Ravens *Solihull Vixens * Streatham Strikers/Storm Of those teams, only two are still in league play today, Oxford University and Solihull, while the Cambridge University has a non-league team. The English Ice Hockey Association (EIHA) is the governing body of ice hockey in England and Wales. It was formed in 1982 and featured around 60 teams. EIHA is one of several bodies regulating ice hockey in the United Kingdom, along with Scottish Ice Hockey (SIH), the Northern Ireland Ice Hockey Association (IHNI), and Ice Hockey UK, which governs the national ice hockey teams of Great Britain as a national member of the International Ice Hockey Association (IIHF).
