Brace (album)
''Brace'' is the fifth studio album by Western Australian alternative rock band Birds of Tokyo. It was announced on 21 September, alongside the release of the album lead single, "Brace". The album was released on 4 November 2016. In an interview with Triple J in February 2016, the band said the album was written and "radio isn't going to play it", stating "this will be like nothing you've heard before from us". Upon announcement of the album in September 2016, the band described the album as taking a "darker, dirty rock direction", adding "Mums of Australia are going to hate it". A six-date tour was announced in October 2016. Birds of Tokyo lead singer Ian Kenny said: "When we were writing and recording we kept talking about how we wanted to make a really dark and intense rock record that would be great to play live. Birds of Tokyo are an Australian alternative rock band from Perth, Western Australia. Their debut album, ''Day One,'' gained them domestic success, reaching number three on the AIR Independent Album charts and spending a total of 36 consecutive weeks in the top ten. In 2008, the band released ''Universes'', which made it to number three on the Australian ARIA Albums Chart. 2010 saw the band's self-titled third studio release '' Birds of Tokyo'' spend over eight months on the Australian top 20, peaking at number two on the ARIA Albums Chart. The double platinum album received the 2010 ARIA Award for Best Rock Album and in early 2011 the band's breakthrough hit " Plans" ranked number four on Triple J's Hottest 100. Lanterns (song)
"Lanterns" is the second single from Australian alternative rock band Birds of Tokyo's fourth album, '' March Fires''. Band member Ian Berney said "It was always about our own sense of community and reaching far and wide in the most positive way we could, with the most positive message we had at the time, and it really connected with people." Music video The music video for "Lanterns" was directed by Josh Logue and was shot in Sydney, Australia. It was nominated for Best Video at the ARIA Music Awards of 2013.ARIA Award previous winners. The LP (from "long playing" or "long play") is an analog sound storage medium, a phonograph record format characterized by: a speed of rpm; a 12- or 10-inch (30- or 25-cm) diameter; use of the "microgroove" groove specification; and a vinyl (a copolymer of vinyl chloride acetate) composition disk. The compact disc (CD) is a digital optical disc data storage format that was co-developed by Philips and Sony to store and play digital audio recordings. The Jezabels
The Jezabels are an Australian indie rock band formed in Sydney in 2007. The band consists of lead vocalist Hayley Mary (born Hayley Frances McGlone), lead guitarist Sam Lockwood, pianist and keyboardist Heather Shannon, and drummer and percussionist Nik Kaloper. From 2009 to 2010, the group released three EPs, '' The Man Is Dead'', ''She's So Hard'', and '' Dark Storm'' — all produced and engineered by Lachlan Mitchell.
