Boynton, Georgia
Boynton is an unincorporated community in Catoosa County, in the U.S. state of Georgia. History Boynton was originally called "Peavine", and under the latter name, the first permanent settlement was made in 1850. A post office called Boynton was in operation from 1890 until 1903. The community was named for Henry V. Catoosa County is a county located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census, the population was 67,872. The county seat is Ringgold. The county was created on December 5, 1853. The meaning of the Cherokee language name "Catoosa" is obscure. Catoosa County is part of the Chattanooga, TN–GA Metropolitan Statistical Area. Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, located in northern Georgia and southeastern Tennessee, preserves the sites of two major battles of the American Civil War: the Battle of Chickamauga and the Siege of Chattanooga.
