Boyne 100
The Boyne 100 Road Races, held in Tullyallen, County Louth, Ireland, formed when a meeting of local enthusiasts got together in 2006 to revive the Tullyallen Motor Cycle Road Races, which were last held 40 years ago. The first races took place in 1965 and 1966, organised by the Dublin-based Motor Enthusiasts Club. They intended to also run a car race but decided that the roads were too narrow, and so opted for a motorbike race instead. The 3.2 mile circuit includes a scenic view of the Boyne Valley and the new cable bridge from the paddock area. The circuit is located close to the town of Drogheda. Tullyallen, County Louth
Tullyallen () is a village, civil parish and townland (of 224 acres) 6 km north-west of the town of Drogheda in County Louth, Ireland. It is in the historic Barony of Ferrard. It is located in the historical Boyne Valley, in the Catholic parish of Mellifont (named after the nearby Mellifont Abbey); it is also close to Newgrange, Knowth and Dowth burial mounds, Monasterboice monastery, and to the Battle of the Boyne site. Amenities Amenities within Tullyallen village include a supermarket, church hall, pub, GAA grounds, pharmacy, butcher, hair & beauty salon and fast-food takeaway. Duke Road Racing Rankings
The Duke Road Race Rankings was established in 2002 to analyse and acknowledge the season-long performances of riders involved in a series of motorcycle road racing events held on public roads. It was the idea of Isle of Man-based Peter Duke, son of former World Champion Geoff Duke, who in conjunction with road-racing journalist Leslie Moore, author Mac McDiarmid and archivist Phil Edge, developed a scoring system which would recognise the significance of the individual events. Riders' aggregate performances over a season-long assessment of several road racing events acknowledges the most consistent racer as the ‘championship’ winner.
