Boyden Cavern is a show cave located in Giant Sequoia National Monument, the Giant Sequoia National Monument of the Sequoia National Forest, along the California State Route 180, Kings Canyon Scenic Byway in Fresno County, California, Fresno County, California. It is just west of Kings Canyon National Park. Cavern The cave is a solutional cave formed in Mesozoic marble (metamorphosed limestone). It is a cave with many varieties of natural speleothems, including rare "shield" formations. Boyden Cave or Boyden Cavern is located in the deepest river cut canyon of the United States, the deep Kings Canyon. Jennifer Boyden
Jennifer Boyden (born 1969) is an American poet and teacher. Life Jennifer Boyden grew up in Stillwater, Minnesota. She attended Creighton University (B.A., Creative Writing), and Eastern Washington University (M.F.A., Creative Writing, With Distinction). Boyden's first book, ''The Mouths of Grazing Things'', was selected by Robert Pinsky to receive the Brittingham Prize in Poetry in 2010 (University of Wisconsin Press). Her poetry is primarily lyrical and imagistic, and her themes often relate to environmental issues. In 1999, she was awarded the PEN Northwest Wilderness Writing residency and lived in an isolated, remote wilderness region near the Rogue River in southern Oregon. Her work was influenced by this wilderness immersion. A later environmental project was funded by a grant from Washington State Artist Trust Gap Grants. Seth Boyden (November 17, 1788 – March 31, 1870) was an American inventor. Early life He was born in Foxboro, Massachusetts, on November 17, 1788, the son of Seth Boyden and Susannah Atherton. His father was a farmer and blacksmith. His younger brother was Uriah A. Boyden. Career He worked as a watchmaker and moved to Newark, New Jersey. Boyden perfected the process for making patent leather, created malleable iron, invented a nail-making machine, and built his own steamboat. He is also credited with having invented a cut off switch for steam engines and a method for producing zinc from ore. Philo Quincy Boyden (January 4, 1829 – 1922) was an American pharmacist from Hudson, Wisconsin, who served two one-year terms as a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly. Background Boyden was born in Washington County, Indiana, on January 4, 1829, the seventh of nine children of David and Rebecca Boyden. His father was a former mason who became a physician. He received a common school education, and became a druggist by trade. He moved from Washington County to Madison County, Indiana, in 1851. He moved to Hudson, Wisconsin, in 1859, becoming a pioneering druggist of the area. He was one of the thirteen original incorporators and shareholders of the Wisconsin Railway Company organized on June 14, 1863, which would later become part of the Milwaukee and St. Paul Railroad. Nathaniel Boyden (August 16, 1796 – November 20, 1873) was a U.S. Congressman from North Carolina between 1847 and 1849 and later between 1868 and 1869. Born in Conway, Massachusetts in 1796, Boyden attended the common schools and then served in the War of 1812. He graduated from Union College in Schenectady, New York, in 1821 and moved to Stokes County, North Carolina in 1822. After teaching school for several years in North Carolina, Boyden studied law and was admitted to the bar and practiced. In 1838 and 1840, he was elected to terms in the North Carolina House of Commons. In 1842, Boyden moved to Salisbury, North Carolina and continued to practice law. In 1844 he was elected to the North Carolina Senate, and in 1846, voted to a single term in the 30th United States Congress (March 4, 1847 – March 3, 1849) as a Whig. Nathaniel Bostwick "Nate" Boyden (born November 27, 1982) is an American former professional soccer player who currently serves as an assistant coach for the Loyola Ramblers men's soccer team.
