Amir Peretz
Amir Peretz ( he, עָמִיר פֶּרֶץ; born on 9 March 1952) is an Israeli politician who served as a member of the Knesset for the Labor Party. A Knesset member almost continuously from 1988 to 2021, he has served as Minister of Defence, Minister of Economy, and Minister of Environmental Protection, as well as heading the Histadrut trade union federation between 1995 and 2006. After five years as mayor of Sderot, Peretz first became an MK for the Labor-dominated Alignment in 1988. Habib El Malki
Habib El Malki ( ar, لحبيب المالكي – born 15 April 1946, Boujad) is a Moroccan politician of the Socialist Union of Popular Forces party. He was Minister of Education in the cabinet of Driss Jettou (2002–2007) and Minister of Agriculture in the first cabinet of Abderrahman el-Yousfi (1998–2000). He is a professor of economics at the University of Mohammad V. He is a member of the Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco, and receiver of the "Grande médaille de la francophonie", an award from the Académie Française, which he obtained in 1993. Dr Yehuda Lancry ( he, יהודה לנקרי, ; born 25 September 1947) is a Moroccan-born former Israeli politician and ambassador to France and the United Nations. Born in Boujad in Morocco, Lancry studied at an alliance high school in Casablanca. He made aliyah to Israel in 1965 and gained a PhD in French literature from the University of Haifa and University of Nice Sophia Antipolis. Between 1983 and 1992 he served as head of the local council of Shlomi, and from 1991 until 1992 was chairman of Second Israeli Broadcasting Authority. He was appointed Israel's ambassador to France in 1992, serving until 1995. Ahmed Cherkaoui
Ahmed Cherkaoui (2 October 1934 - 17 August 1967) was a Moroccan painter who worked in oil, gouache, and watercolour. Education Born in Boujad, Cherkaoui studied at the École des métiers d'art and the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, winning a scholarship in 1961 to the School of Fine Arts in Warsaw. Works He was influenced by Western artists including Paul Klee, Roger Bissière, and Henri Matisse and by traditional Moroccan art which he studied with support from UNESCO. He began exhibiting in 1959. His style was abstract but used motifs from Moroccan tattoos, pottery, leatherwork, weaving, ornaments, and architecture. Until 1965 his paintings had combinations of dark colours; from that point on his style was more light and spacious. From 1966 he applied his style to leather as a medium.
