Bou (1998 Film)
''Bou'' (English : Mother) is a 1998 Indian Odia-language drama film. It was directed, produced and written by Sabyasachi Mohapatra. Usasi Misra, Jyoti Misra and Akshaya Bastia debuted in the film. Synopsis Umakant (Bijay Mohanty) and Durga (Mahasweta Roy) lives happily with two sons Deepak (Siddhanta Mahapatra) and Amar (Akshaya Bastia) and daughter-in-law Seema (Usasi Misra), the wife of Deepak. Umakant does everything for his children's better up-keeping. One day Umakant meets an accident and becomes handicap. Instead of supporting the parents, Deepak and Amar desert them and live separately. In the meantime Durga comes to rescue of Umakant and tries to find a job for herself to support her family. Sabyasachi Mohapatra
Sabyasachi Mohapatra (born 27 August 1950 in Subarnapur district, Lehedi, India) is an Indian film director, writer, and producer in Odia cinema. He owns a production house named ''Mohapatra Movie Magic''. Career Mohapatra made his directorial debut in film Bhukha in Kosli language, Sambalpuri Language that won International Jury award at Gijon Film festival in Spain. His movie Jai Jagannatha released in 2006, a mythological film, was a mega-budget released in 15 different Languages of India, Indian languages. After 25 years, director Sabyasachi Mohapatra is back with Sala Budha in 2012. Mahasweta Ray is an Indian actress and television personality who is known for her work in Odia films and soap operas. Her numerous accolades include record 8 Odisha State Film Awards. Biography Ray was born in an academic family (Rajkishore Ray was a writer and academic) and had had limited exposure to cinema before she started a career in film. She worked on a majority of the films by Sisir Mishra, including many box office successes. She married Sirish Routray, with whom she has a son, Rishi. Bijay Mohanty
Bijay Mohanty (8 April 1950 – 20 July 2020) was an Indian actor in Odia Cinema. He was honored a National Film Award. Personal life ;Early life Mohanty was born in 1950 at Pandiri, Kendrapara and brought up in Baripada, Mayurbhanj, Odisha. He started acting during his school days while studying at M.K.C High School. After his graduation with BA, he joined the National School of Drama. He passed successfully from the NSD with classmates like Naseeruddin Shah, Raj Babbar, and Om Puri etc. He acted in the theatres and stayed in Delhi up to 1975. Mihir Kumar Das (17 February 1959 – 11 January 2022) was an Indian actor who worked in Odia language films (Ollywood industry). Odia (, ISO: , ; formerly rendered Oriya ) is an Indo-Aryan language spoken in the Indian state of Odisha.
