Old High German
Old High German (OHG; german: Althochdeutsch (Ahd.)) is the earliest stage of the German language, conventionally covering the period from around 750 to 1050. There is no standardised or supra-regional form of German at this period, and Old High German is an umbrella term for the group of continental West Germanic dialects which underwent the set of consonantal changes called the Second Sound Shift. At the start of this period, the main dialect areas belonged to largely independent tribal kingdoms, but by 788 the conquests of Charlemagne had brought all OHG dialect areas into a single polity. The period also saw the development of a stable linguistic border between German and Gallo-Romance, later French. The surviving OHG texts were all written in monastic scriptoria and, as a result, the overwhelming majority of them are religious in nature or, when secular, belong to the Latinate literary culture of Christianity. Bodo Ebhardt
Bodo Heinrich Justus Ebhardt (5 January 1865, Bremen – 13 February 1945 at Marksburg near Braubach) was a German architect, architectural historian, castle explorer, and founder and longtime president of the German Castles Association (''Deutsche Burgenvereinigung''). Life Ebhardt was the son of Bremen furniture manufacturer and businessman Carl Ebhardt and his wife Agnes (Krollmann) Ebhardt. He attended school in Sankt Goarshausen, where he became fascinated by castles. After graduation he was a commercial apprentice in Magdeburg and Bremen from 1880, but soon gave up this job against the wishes of his parents to self-educate and attended lectures in Berlin. Bodo Lafferentz (27 July 1897 – 17 January 1974) was a member of the Nazi Party from 1933 and an '' SS-Obersturmbannführer'' (Lieutenant Colonel) from 1939. In 1937, he was made a manager along with Ferdinand Porsche and Jakob Werlin of the ''Gesellschaft zur Vorbereitung des Deutschen Volkswagens mbH'' ("Association for the Preparation of the German People's Car"). He founded and oversaw the "Institute for Physical Research", an outpost of the Flossenbürg concentration camp , to further develop the V-2 rocket. Bodo Klimpel
Bodo Klimpel (born 12 November 1963) is a German politician ( CDU). He was the mayor of the North Rhine-Westphalian town Haltern am See and is now the Landrat (district chief) of the District Recklinghausen. Life Klimpel was born in Rourkela, in the Indian state of Odisha, where his father was working on the construction of a German steelworks. He trained as a management professional in the town of Kaarst. After his studies, he worked in the city of Düsseldorf's Finance Department. In 2001 he became the Treasurer of the Town of Haltern. Since September 2004, he has been mayor of the town, having been elected with 50.7 percent of the valid votes. In 2009, he was re-elected with 74.2 percent of valid votes, increasing his share of votes by more than 30 percent compared to the 2004 election. Bodo Kirchhoff (born 6 July 1948) is a German writer and novelist. He was born in Hamburg before moving with his family to Kirchzarten in the Black Forest in 1955, which he describes as a culture shock. In addition to writing literary fiction, he has worked on various projects for German television, such as long-runner ''Tatort'', and has written movie screenplays. One of his best-known novels is ''Infanta'' (1990), which has been translated into more than a dozen languages. Bodo Igesz (February 7, 1935 in Amsterdam – December 25, 2014 in New York City) was a Dutch stage director who had an active career staging operas around the world during the second half of the 20th century. He was particularly known for his work with the Metropolitan Opera where he worked for 25 years on the staging staff. Bodo Hombach (born 19 August 1952) is a German politician of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). Early life and education Bodo Hombach was born in Mülheim on the Ruhr, North Rhine-Westphalia. After training to become a telecommunications craftsman (apprenticeship from 1967 to 1970 with the Telephone Exchange in Duisburg), he studied Social Work at the Düsseldorf Polytechnic from 1973 to 1978. Bodo von Hodenberg (3 April 1604 – 20 September 1650) was a German regional administrator and poet. Leben Born in Hudemühlen, Hodenberg was the son of Marquard von Hodenberg and Margarethe Münnich. At age 24, he was legitimised on 1 August 1628 by the emperor as a member of the Hodenberg noble family. He attended schools including the school of and the Partikularschule in Hanover.
