Botev Plovdiv
Profesionalen Futbolen Klub Botev, commonly referred to as Botev Plovdiv ( bg, „Ботев“ Пловдив, ) or simply Botev (within its associated city), is a Bulgarian professional football club based in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, that competes in the Bulgarian Parva Liga, the top flight of Bulgarian football. Founded on 11 March 1912, it is the country's oldest active football club. Botev is named after the Bulgarian national hero Hristo Botev. The club plays its home games at Botev 1912 Football Complex, located in the neighbourhood of Komatevo, while its stadium is under reconstruction. During its history, the club has won 2 Bulgarian championships, 3 Bulgarian Cups, 1 Bulgarian Supercup and 1 Balkans Cup. Botev has also reached the Cup Winners' Cup quarter-finals once. Nikola Shterev
Nikola Shterev ( bg, Никола Щерев) (born 13 March 1903 – 27 December 1972) was a Bulgarian international football player and coach. On club level Shterev won one national championship with Botev Plovdiv in 1929. Career Shterev started his career at the age of 13 in the little Sport Club Bay Ganyo. In 1917 he relocated to Botev Plovdiv. From 1924 Shterev was a captain and coach of the team. Shterev retired in 1933 to take up the role of director of the Football school in Plovdiv, a post that he held until his death in 1972. From 1933 to 1945 he also was a football referee. FC Dunav ( bg, Дунав, officially named ''"Дунав от Русе"'') is a Bulgarian professional football club based in Ruse, which currently competes in the Second League, the second tier of the Bulgarian football league system. Kostadin Stefanov Kostadinov ( bg, Костадин Стефанов Костадинов; born 25 June 1959) is a former Bulgarian footballer who played as a winger. Dinko Tsvetkov Dermendzhiev ( bg, Динко Цветков Дерменджиев; 2 June 1941 – 1 May 2019), nicknamed Chico was a Bulgarian footballer and coach. Club career Dinko Dermendzhiev began his youth career in Maritsa Plovdiv. Initially, he played as a goalkeeper, although later he would be famed as a skillful and elegant forward. Dermendzhiev spent his entire professional career with Botev Plovdiv, playing for the club for 19 years during the 1960s and 1970s. The original ''FC Steaua București'' team was part of the namesake CSA Steaua București sports club and belonged to the Ministry of National Defence. Stadion Hristo Botev ( bg, Стадион „Христо Ботев“, en, 'Hristo Botev Stadium' ) is a football stadium currently undergoing reconstruction in the Kamenitsa neighbourhood of Plovdiv, Bulgaria. It is the home of Botev Plovdiv. Originally named ''The College'', it is still popular by this name amongst fans, as in the early 20th century the pitch was owned by Saint Augustine Catholic College. The stadium hosted the 2000 Bulgarian Cup Final.
