Botanic Gardens MRT Station
Botanic Gardens MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the Downtown line and Circle line in Tanglin, Singapore, located at the junction of Bukit Timah Road and Cluny Park Road. The station is located at the northwestern corner of the Singapore Botanic Gardens, where it was named after. It is the nearest MRT station to the Bukit Timah campus of the National University of Singapore. As Bukit Brown MRT station is currently non-operational, the section of tracks between Botanic Gardens station and Caldecott MRT station is the longest between any two stations on the Circle line. The Singapore Botanic Gardens is a -year-old tropical garden located at the fringe of the Orchard Road shopping district in Singapore. Stevens MRT Station
Stevens MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the Downtown (DTL) and Thomson–East Coast (TEL) lines. Situated at the junction of Stevens Road and Bukit Timah Road, it serves the nearby Singapore Chinese Girls' School and St. Joseph's Institution schools, as well as the Raffles Town Club and the surrounding private estates. The station was first announced in July 2008 as part of DTL Stage 2 (DTL2) and opened on 27 December 2015. Two new exits at Dunearn Road and Whitley Road opened on 23 November 2019. In August 2012, the station was announced to interchange with the TEL. Caldecott MRT Station
Caldecott MRT station is an underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) interchange station on the Circle line (CCL) and Thomson–East Coast line (TEL), located in Toa Payoh planning area, Singapore. It is situated underneath Toa Payoh Link near the junction of Toa Payoh Rise, located near the Singapore Association of the Visually Handicapped (SAVH), the Caldecott Broadcast Centre and Mount Alvernia Hospital. The station is operated by SMRT Trains. Initially planned to be a shell station tentatively named Thomson, in 2008, the station was announced to be opened along with the Stages 4 and 5 of the CCL stations. The CCL station opened in 2011. Bukit Brown MRT Station
Bukit Brown MRT station is a future underground Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) station on the Circle line (CCL), located in Novena planning area, Singapore. Announced along with the 17 stations of CCL Stages 4 and 5 in November 2005, it was designated as a station to be opened in the future. This station is currently non-operational due to the lack of development and demand in the area, although there are structural provisions set for the station future construction. Bukit Timah Road
Bukit Timah Road (; ms, Jalan Bukit Timah; ta, புக்கித் திமா சாலை) is a major road in Singapore extending from the city centre to Woodlands Road on the way to Johor Bahru in Malaysia. 2 Island Platforms
An island platform (also center platform, centre platform) is a station layout arrangement where a single platform is positioned between two tracks within a railway station, tram stop or transitway interchange. Island platforms are popular on twin-track routes due to pragmatic and cost reasons. They are also useful within larger stations where local and express services for the same direction of travel can be provided from opposite sides of the same platform thereby simplifying transfers between the two tracks.
