The Justice and Reconciliation Party ( bs, Stranka pravde i pomirenja; sr, Странка правде и помирења; abbr. СПП or SPP), formerly known as the Bosniak Democratic Union of Sandžak ( bs, Bošnjačka demokratska zajednica Sandžaka; sr, Бошњачка демократска заједница Санџака; abbr. БДЗС or BDZS), is a political party in Serbia, representing the Bosniak ethnic minority concentrated in the Sandžak region of Serbia. Usame Zukorlić
Usame Zukorlić ( sr-cyrl, Усаме Зукорлић; born 1992) is a Serbian politician and economist serving as a member of the National Assembly since 1 August 2022. An ethnic Bosniak, he has been the president of the Justice and Reconciliation Party since 2021. Early life Zukorlić was born in Constantine, Algeria in 1992. His father was a Bosniak mufti and politician Muamer Zukorlić, while his mother is an Arab from Algeria.He attended primary and secondary school in Novi Pazar, and later studied at the International University, where he obtained his master's degree in economics, and Faculty of Islamic Studies. 2022 Serbian General Election
General elections were held in Serbia on 3 April 2022 to elect both the president and members of the National Assembly. Initially, parliamentary elections were scheduled to be held in 2024; however, in October 2020 president Aleksandar Vučić stated that snap parliamentary elections would be held in or before April 2022. In addition to the general elections, local elections were held simultaneously in 12 municipalities and 2 cities, including Belgrade. The Serbian Progressive Party (SNS) came to power in 2012 after forming a government with the Socialist Party of Serbia. Muamer Zukorlić
Muamer Zukorlić (; 15 February 1970 – 6 November 2021) was a Serbian politician and Islamic theologian who served as the president and chief Mufti of the Islamic Community in Serbia. An ethnic Bosniak, he served as an MP from 2016 to 2020 and as the vice president of the National Assembly of Serbia from October 2020 until his death. Early life Zukorlić was born on 15 February 1970 in Orlje near Tutin, SFR Yugoslavia, where he grew up with his family. He attended primary school in the village of Ribariće and the Gazi Husrev-beg madrasa in Sarajevo. 2016 Serbian Parliamentary Election
Parliamentary elections were held in Serbia on 24 April 2016. Initially, the election were originally due to be held by March 2018, but on 17 January 2016 Prime Minister Aleksandar Vučić called for a snap election claiming Serbia "needs four more years of stability so that it is ready to join the European Union". The elections were held simultaneously with provincial elections in Vojvodina and nationwide local elections. Voter turnout was 56%. Vučić's Serbian Progressive Party-led coalition retained its majority, winning 131 of the 250 seats. The Social Democratic Union ( sr, Социјалдемократска унија, Socijaldemokratska unija; abbr. СДУ, SDU) was a minor social democratic and leftist political party in Serbia.
